Biography
Peter Murphy fait ses débuts en tant que chanteur britannique du groupe Bauhaus, groupe culte du rock post-punk et du rock gothique anglais des années 1980. Lorsqu'il prépare Burning From The Inside (1983), Peter Murphy, qui a contracté une pneumonie, n'apparaît que sur la moitié des morceaux, laissant le champ libre aux talents de chanteur du guitariste Daniel Ash, qui oriente le groupe vers une veine plus acoustique. Après Bauhaus, il crée le groupe Dali's Car puis s'engage dans une carrière solo ponctuée de nombreux albums et de reformations scéniques de Bauhaus en 2006. Il vit depuis quelques années entre New York et la Turquie.En 2011, Peter Murphy fait son retour en solo avec l'album Ninth qui paraît sept ans après Unshattered. In Seattle, not far from Forks, Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) attacks and bites Riley Biers (Xavier Samuel), in order to begin creating an army of newborns with him. Back in Forks, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) discuss the complications of becoming an immortal vampire. At 18 years old, one year older than the age Edward was when he became a vampire, Bella expresses her aversion to the idea of marrying so young, though Edward refuses to turn her into a vampire until they are married, his argument that she should have various human experiences she would otherwise miss. While Charlie Swan (Billy Burke) investigates the disappearance of Riley Biers, Edward suspects his disappearance was caused by the newborn vampires, furthering his suspicions is Riley's intrusion into Bella's room.

Miriam Blaylock (Catherine Deneuve) is a beautiful and dangerous immortal vampire, promising specially chosen humans eternal life as her vampire lovers. As the film begins, her vampire companion is John (David Bowie), a talented cellist whom she married in 18th century France. The film opens in a night club in New York, to a live performance from Bauhaus. There they connect with another young couple who are brought home and fed upon by slashing their throats with a bladed Ankh pendant. The bodies are disposed of by an incinerator in the basement of John and Miriam's elegant New York townhouse, where they pose as a wealthy couple who teach classical music. The only student shown is a young tomboy violinist named Alice Cavender (Beth Ehlers).
