Richa Gangopadhyay (born Antara Richa Gangopadhyay on 20 March 1986) is an Indian film actress, model and former beauty queen. After appearing in commercials, she made her film debut in the 2010 Telugu political drama Leader. Since then she has starred in several commercially successful Telugu films, including Mirapakaay and Mirchi. In 2011, she starred in her first Tamil film, Mayakkam Enna, earning positive reviews for her performance.

In a short span of her film career she acted with star heroes of Tollywood like Venkatesh , Ravi Teja , Prabhas and Nagarjuna .

In October 2013, Richa announced, on her microblogging site, that she would take a temporary hiatus from films and moved back to the USA to pursue her MBA.

Biography

Richa Gangopadhyay was born on 20 March 1986 to Utpal and Paula Gangopadhyay, in New Delhi. Her father works as the Vice President of Netshape Technologies, while her mother works as a Director of Education at The Henry Ford Museum in Detroit and in March 2012 has been nominated Member of the prestigious National Museum and Library Services Board by president Obama . Her parents settled in the USA in 1989 after spending her first year in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, with Richa being brought up in Pennsylvania and Michigan. While attending Okemos High School, as a Junior, she was featured in the local media for founding a youth-tutoring program for at-risk children in Lansing, which she ran for four years. She went on to major in Dietetics and Health Administration at Michigan State University.

The movie begins with Jai(Prabhas) practicing guitar when a girl runs to him and asks him to save her from a gang of goons chasing her. Then Jay, without fighting, resolves the conflict. The movie starts with Sugan(Karthi) and his friend Parasuram(Premgi Amaren ) being chased by cops. The flashback shows Sugan as a playboy who has a weakness for Biryani and Parasuram who is his childhood friend. Sugans playboy attitude always gets him into a fight with his girlfriend Priyanka(Hansika Motwani). Sugan and Parasuram attending a function for branch opening of one of their offices where they meet Varadharajan(Nassar), who is the chief guest for the ceremony. In the meantime, its shown that a CBI officer Riyaz Khan (Sampath Raj) has been deputed to track Vardharajan's illegal activities. Varadharajan gets impressed with Sugan and decides later to make him his son-in law and this decision gets him into an argument with his other son in law Vijayakrishna(Ramki).

Bhai (Akkineni Nagarjuna) is the most skilled and trusted enforcer of a Hong Kong-based Don, named David (Ashish Vidyarthi). David is heavily dependent on Bhai for his day-to-day operations and this is resented by David’s sons, James (Sonu Sood) and Tony (Ajay). David sends Bhai to Hyderabad, to finish off an undercover police officer who is disrupting the mafia operations in the city. In the due course, Bhai bumps into Radhika (Richa Gangopadhyay), a horticulturist who falls in love with Bhai after few incidents. However, Bhai never accepts her proposal. Bhai begins hunting down the undercover officer and uncovers his identity. The cop is none other than Arjun (Prasanna) and Bhai decides to finish him off. On the day of the trial, Bhai finds out that Arjun is his brother after seeing his father Raghava along with Arjun. He drops the plan and tries to walk out from the place. But the visuals of Bhai aiming Arjun with a gun are recorded about which Bhai is not aware of. However, Arjun is attacked by a few disguised armed men and all of them are killed by Arjun. Much to the shock of Bhai, one of the deceased is Tony, who sets out to India on the suggestion of James in order to kill Arjun and gain David's appreciation. David is taken aback after realizing the truth and is hell bent on killing Arjun.

This movie starts off with the assassination of Sanjeevayya (Suman), the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the subsequent turmoil in the organization of the state government. The last wish of Sanjeevayya is for his son, Arjun Prasad (Rana Daggubati), to become the next Chief Minister. However, Arjun's cousin Dhanunjay (Subbaraju) has his own dreams of becoming the Chief Minister. Arjun is approached by Ali (Harsha Vardhan) who has given 10 Crores to Sanjeevayya to resolve a land dispute in Ali's favour. Ali pleads Arjun to remind his father about the cash, once he is out of coma, as he has given his entire savings to resolve the issue. Ali also requests Arjun not to disclose it to anyone as he doesn't trust anyone. Arjun speaks to Dhanunjay about Ali but Arjun is somehow convinced that Ali's money would be returned. After Sanjeevayya's death a number of people approach Arjun, saying that his father has given them a huge sum of money and it's their duty to return it to Arjun. Arjun doesn't seem to be too interested until he talks to his mother, Rajeshwari (Suhasini Maniratnam). Arjun's mother tells him that the people who approached him are all corrupted ones, who have looted public's money and also reveals that his father is one among them. Arjun is shocked upon hearing this but his mother tells him that his father wanted to build a corrupt free state and also abolish the caste system but his Peddaina (Sanjeevayya's elder brother) (Kota Srinivasa Rao) doesn't approve of his plans and his only aim was to rule the state along with the family members. Arjun reads his father's diary and finds out how his Pedainna set their whole village on fire due to a small clash with the dalits. His father has also mentioned that only Arjun can make a difference.

An ancient painting of Chandramukhi, alias Nagavalli (Anushka Shetty), floats away to a distant place, where it finally comes into the hands of a village painter. The painter takes it home to restore it. When his wife asks him to sell the painting, he becomes furious, saying that he wouldn't sell it off even at the cost of his life. The next day, the painter is shown to be dead under mysterious circumstances, possibly being a suicide. The painting is then sold off to a dance competition, which was distributed as a prize to Bharatanatyam dancer Gayathri (Kamalinee Mukherjee), her husband and her family. Gayathri lives in a palatial house in Tirupathi with her husband, father Shankar Rao (Sharat Babu), mother Parvathi (Prabha), sisters Geetha (Shraddha Das) and Gowri (Richa Gangopadhyay), maternal uncle Appa Rao(Dharmavarapu Subramanyam), his wife and maternal cousins Pooja(Poonam Kaur) and Hema(Suja) happily.
