Stokowski apparait de face sur un fond bleu puis ses musiciens, en réalité des animateurs, et à nouveau le chef d'orchestre de dos avant qu'une pleine lune apparaisse dans un ciel légèrement nuageux. Dans un bayou embrumé la caméra s'avance vers un bosquet endormi par la nuit. Un héron y sommeille puis se réveille. Après quelques pas dans l'eau qui forme des cercles à la surface, l'oiseau s'envole à travers les arbres. il se pose à côté d'une cascade formée par une racine. La lune se reflète dans l'eau, perturbée par quelques ondulations. Un autre oiseau marche dans l'eau cherchant à se nourrir puis s'envole, alors rejoint par le premier. Les deux oiseaux s'envolent dans la nuit puis se fondent dans l'obscurité jusqu'à ce que la silhouette du chef d'orchestre réapparaisse.

A doe gives birth to a fawn named Bambi, who will one day take over the position of Great Prince of the Forest, a title currently held by Bambi's father, who guards the woodland creatures from the dangers of hunters. The fawn is quickly befriended by an eager, energetic rabbit named Thumper, who helps to teach him to walk and speak. Bambi grows up very attached to his mother, with whom he spends most of his time. He soon makes other friends, including a young skunk named Flower and a female fawn named Faline. Curious and inquisitive, Bambi frequently asks about the world around him and is cautioned about the dangers of life as a forest creature by his loving mother.

Après une vue rapprochée de Stokowski s'estompant dans le noir, un cercle mouvant de lucioles aux couleurs différentes apparait dans un sous-bois. Les lucioles sont des fées réveillant les fleurs une par une tout entier, donnant coup de baguette et poussières de fées les uns après les autres de la couleur à la nature comme des gouttes de rosées un matin de printemps.

La silhouette du chef d'orchestre apparaît dirigeant les artistes avec des éclairages colorés mettant en exergue les silhouettes des musiciens. Des silhouettes rouges, vertes, orange, jaunes, bleues se superposent jusqu'à former un ciel nuageux. Les cordes et archers deviennent éclairs, pluies puis le ciel s'éclaircit et les archers deviennent oiseaux, les cordes évoquent des chemins ou des vagues. Les bois, représentés par des points lumineux puis des cercles de couleurs, alternent dans une danse avec les cordes-archers au rythme de la musique. Le climat devient plus froid tandis que les cuivres et les graves se font plus intenses. D'énormes nuages orange puis blancs apparaissent tandis que le mouvement de caméra évoque une ascension vers l'espace. Une pluie de nuages colorés tombe avant qu'une rayon lumineux ne transperce le ciel et provoque des étincelles sur un ciel rouge puis un soleil resplendissant au travers des nuages, la silhouette du chef d'orchestre apparait alors dans un cercle rouge pour le final.

Le film dépeint les communautés animales ayant trouvé pour demeure un vieux moulin à vent abandonné dans la campagne et ayant connu des péripéties lors d'une violente tempête arrivée soudainement. A la fin du film, le vieux moulin fut finalement sérieusement endommagé à cause du fait qu'il ait été frappé par la foudre. Mais une fois le beau temps revenu, les animaux reprennent leur vie paisible tout en gardant ce vieux moulin pour refuge.
