Scott Wiper (born July 22, 1970) is an American writer, film director, and actor.
He wrote, directed, and starred in A Better Way to Die. Wiper's was the co-writer and director of the action thriller, The Condemned, starring WWE's "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Wiper wrote the screenplay for the upcoming film version of The Cold Light of Day, starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver and he also directed the WWE Film The Marine 3: Homefront starring WWE Superstar The Miz.

In 1923 Tennessee, two young boys, Rafe McCawley (Jesse James) and Danny Walker (Reiley McClendon), play together in the back of an old biplane, pretending to be soldiers fighting the Germans in World War I. After Rafe's father lands his biplane and leaves, Rafe and Danny climb into the plane and Rafe accidentally starts it, giving the boys their first experience at flight. Soon afterward, Danny's father (William Fichtner) comes to take him home. He calls Rafe a "stupid boy" and beats Danny. In an effort to protect Danny, Rafe hits Danny's father with an old propeller and calls him a "dirty German". Danny's father reacts by saying he fought the Germans in the trenches in France during World War I, and that he prays that no one will ever have to see the things he saw.

Jake Carter of the United States Marine Corps returns home to Bridgeton, a rural town located near Seattle, Washington. As he steps off the bus, he reunites with his best friend Harkin. When he returns home he greets his sisters Lilly and Amanda, and they throw a party for his homecoming. Meanwhile in Seattle, a regional bank is robbed by a syndicate believed to be extremists; their leader, Jonah Pope, forces the bank manager to give them what they demand.
