The film investigates the life and philosophy of Dante Alighieri through a series of interviews with intellectuals, artists, masons and men of faith who guide the viewer in discovering a little-known side of the man considered the Father of the Italian language. This includes analysis of the cardinal points of the The Divine Comedy and references to the Western tradition of initiation, secret lodges, membership or not, which accompany the viewer in a different approach to the study of Dante Alighieri. The film's first ten minutes are presented in a found footage format, before seguing into a series on interviews interspersed with occasional animations.

Alvise (Lou Castel) is a young man who thinks he is paralyzed. He receives treatment for his psychological problem. His father leaves Alvise for a few days in the care of Aunt Lea (Lisa Gastoni), who is Alvise's mother's sister. Alvise becomes infatuated with his aunt and Lea also reciprocates gradually. Lea breaks off her relationship with Stefano (Gabriele Ferzetti) to be with her nephew. Alvise promises to make love to Lea if she plays with him and beats him at any of the games. Lea and Alvise play a number of games leading to the ultimate game of euthanasia.
