Sreenivasan is an Indian film actor and screenwriter known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He has written for over 50 films and has acted in over 200 films. He has also directed and produced two films each.
Sreenivasan wrote the screenplay for films such as Odaruthammava Aalariyam (1984), Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam (1986), Gandhinagar 2nd Street (1986), Nadodikkattu (1987), Pattanapravesham (1988), Varavelpu (1989), Thalayanamanthram (1990), Sandesam (1991), Midhunam (1993), Mazhayethum Munpe (1995), Azhakiya Ravanan (1996), and Ayal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu (1998) among others. As a writer and actor he has frequently collaborated with directors such as Priyadarshan, Sathyan Anthikad and Kamal. As an actor he has collaborated several times with Mohanlal. As a filmmaker, he scripted and directed Vadakkunokkiyanthram (1989) and Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala (1998).
Sreenivasan’s scripts in the 1980s and 1990s used stories inspired by sensationalist fiction in popular magazines. He used subtle humour to portray the effect of militant labour unions in Kerala.

Story revolves around the paradoxical elements of love and betrayal which leads to bizarre endings. The film is filled with sub-plots and ends with the beginning of possible sub-plots. Hari is the house owner who shelters Arun, Tovino and Vicky. Hariis an well-known painter and is in love with Muktha. Abhi is Hari's brother and is also friends with Vicky. Tovino is a gym trainer who cajoles older women's for gifts and such and also an aspiring playboy. Arun is an company employee who leads a love-life with an under-age girl Diya, who herself have ulterior motives. His immature judgements makes his life troublesome. Unni is the help of Hari who cooks food and helps in other household matters, he also aspires to be like Vicky and Tovino, as a skilled womanizer. The story weaves in and out these characters with tight and loosened grip of drama and humor.

A tailor falls in love with the girl next door, Sumathi. But her father, a log breaker, decides to marry her off to an NRI. Since it is inevitable to stop the marriage, the tailor decides to write a novel. Fortunately, he receives the State Award for the Best Novel. With the prize money, the tailor builds a huge Mansion. Chakka Gopan (Kunchacko Boban) is a tourist guide striving hard to feed a family of four, including his mother (KPAC Lalitha) and three elder brothers - Chakka Mani, Chakka Suku and Chakka Vijayan (Irshad, Joju George and Shiju). Gopan is often made a scapegoat for the wrongdoings of his brothers. Celluloid tells the tale of J. C. Daniel (Prithviraj) and his love for cinema. He goes to great lengths to get the equipment required to make a movie, writing numerous letters, visiting places and meeting Dada Saheb Phalke-the man who brought cinema to India. Getting a female artiste to act in his movie was a tough task. It is decided that Rosamma, rechristened later as P K Rosy (Chandini), will essay the lead role in J. C. Daniel's revolutionary 'motion picture' venture, Vigathakumaran, the story of which J. C. Daniel himself conceived. He sells everything to make his dream a reality, further borrowing money to meet the expenses. When finally Vigathakumaran is screened at Capitol Theatre, a 'cinemapura', the upper caste members of the audience creates a ruckus over a lower caste girl acting as a Nair lady. Rosie, hunted by the Madambis leaves town never to be seen again. Years later, the shrivelled, poverty ridden Daniel, with only his wife Janet (Mamta Mohandas) by his side, is leading a life far removed from what he had envisaged. Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan's (Sreenivasan) interest in Daniel's life, his efforts to give him his due and the flashbacks to the incidents in Daniel's life after Vigathakumaran form the rest of the movie.

Madhavankutty (Sreenivasan) is a schoolmaster in a remote village. He is famous among students and his friends but his wife (Rajsri) keeps complaining about not helping her in house. It gives sleepless nights to the panchayat president (Nedumudi Venu) and the police officer in charge of the area (Innocent). As they have no inkling about who the culprit may be, they device a plan to catch someone with a previous record. Madhavankutty is the sole eye witness as the shop is visible from the place where he lives. A major part of the story is devoted to showing how Madhavankutty dodges the pressure tactics of the police and counters their arguments. But after this incident, people start moving away from him and the film is about how the incident changes his life.
