Sripriya is an actress who played leading roles in the 1970s and 1980s in South India. She has acted in over 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam language films. Over 200 of these are Tamil films.

She has also directed film's in Tamil and Telugu, including the 2014 film Drushyam in Telugu language.

Biography

Sripriya was born in Chennai. She attended the Church Park convent school in Chennai. She is a trained classical dancer and hails from a professional music family including her uncles Natiyakalachakravarthy Padmashri K N Dhandayuthapani Pillai and Nadaswara Chakravarthy Shri Rajamanickam Pillai. In 1988, she married the actor Rajkumar Sethupathy. The couple have two children, a daughter, Sneha and a son, Nagarjun.

The film is the story of Anand (Kamal Haasan), a journalist and a martial arts expert. Anand is in love with Sripriya. He gets a micro film showing the wrongdoings of underworld king Sudarsan. Now the gang is after Anand for the micro film. Sudarsan's gang member Sathyapriya befriend Anand to get the micro film, but fails. Meantime Anand's love Sripriya leaves her house as her father Major Sundarrajan is against their affair. Sripriya get threatened by Sudarsan's gang for micro film. Anand's friend Y. G. Mahendran also get trapped by the underworld gang to retrieve the micro film. Anand had to fight against his martial arts master too, who is an aide of Sudarsan. Finally Anand succeeds in eliminating the entire gang saving micro film.

Selvam (Nizhalgal Ravi), an estate manager, and his family move into a new house based in a village. There, Selvam falls in love with Annam (Sadhana), a jolly village girl. Madan (Kamal Haasan) is a dancer by profession who is a dream boy of all young girls. Kalpana (Shobana),a young woman, is irritated by Madan's fame and she badly criticizes his performances which attracts attention of Madan on her.
