Sushant Singh Rajput is an Indian actor. He had a starring role in the soap opera Pavitra Rishta, and later participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4. Rajput made his film debut as one of the three male leads in Abhishek Kapoor's drama Kai Po Che! (2013). He went on to star in the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and played the titular detective in the thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015), both of which were produced by Yash Raj Films.
Rajput is engaged to Ankita Lokhande, his co-star from Pavitra Rishta. Rajput proposed to her on national television in February 2011 on the dance show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4. He has said that they plan to get married very soon.

Rajput started his career as a backup dancer who performed at the Filmfare Awards many times. While he was performing, Balaji Films spotted him and offered him a television role.Rajput is engaged to Ankita Lokhande, his co-star from Pavitra Rishta. A humanoid alien (Aamir Khan) lands on Earth naked on a research mission in Rajasthan, but is stranded when the remote control of his spaceship is stolen, though he manages to get the thief's cassette recorder, a National Panasonic RQ-565D. On the same day in Bruges, Jaggu (Anushka Sharma) meets a man named Sarfaraz (Sushant Singh Rajput) and falls in love with him. Jaggu's father (Parikshit Sahni) objects to their relationship because Sarfaraz is a Pakistani Muslim, while Jaggu is a Hindu. He consults godman Tapasvi Maharaj (Saurabh Shukla) who predicts that Sarfaraz will betray Jaggu. Determined to prove them wrong, Jaggu proposes to Sarfaraz. She is heart-broken at the wedding chapel when she receives a letter calling off the marriage due to their cultural differences.
