Novembre 1999. Après le décès de son épouse, Trond Sander, âgé de 67 ans, s'est retiré d'Oslo dans un petit village de l'est de la Norvège. Le millénaire touche à sa fin et il semblerait que ce soit aussi le cas de la vie de Trond. Une nuit d'hiver, il reconnaît soudain une vieille connaissance de sa jeunesse en son voisin, Lars. Leur rencontre nous rappelle des souvenirs de 1948, année où Trond passa tout un été dans une simple cabane en bois au bord de la rivière avec son père qu'il admirait beaucoup. Longs après-midi dans la forêt, promenades en chevaux sauvages et travail acharné à l'abattage du bois commencent à se fondre dans une série d'images du bonheur sans soucis mais aussi d'expériences fatidiques.

Johnny « Utah » est un athlète de l'extrême. Lors d'un run à moto-cross pour l'un de ses sponsors, son meilleur ami Jeff décède après une cascade ratée. Johnny s'en veut terriblement et quitte tout cet univers. Sept ans plus tard, Johnny postule au sein du FBI pour devenir agent fédéral. Il entend alors parler d'une équipe de braqueurs bien particuliers. Ces derniers ont dévalisé un stock de diamants à Bombay en s'échappant en parachute. Au Mexique, ils dérobent dans un avion un stock de billets qu'is relâchent dans le ciel au Mexique, avant de disparaitre en chute libre directement dans le gouffre des Hirondelles. Johnny sent qu'il peut les appréhender, même s'il n'est alors toujours pas officiellement un agent fédéral. Johnny va alors tenter d'en savoir plus sur ces braqueurs de l'extrême. Il va alors rencontrer le mystérieux et charismatique Bodhi.

Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) is the leader of a band of mercenaries comprising the spear-wielding prophet Amphiaraus (Ian McShane) of Argos, the knife-throwing thief Autolycus (Rufus Sewell) of Sparta, the feral warrior Tydeus (Aksel Hennie) of Thebes, the Amazon archer Atalanta (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal) of Scythia and his nephew storyteller Iolaus (Reece Ritchie) of Athens. Hercules is said to be the demigod son of Zeus, who completed the legendary Twelve Labors, only to be betrayed by Hera who drove him insane and caused him to murder his wife Megara (Irina Shayk) and their children during a visit to King Eurystheus (Joseph Fiennes). Throughout the film, it is not clearly established that Hercules is truly the son of Zeus, and many are skeptical of the claim as well as of the stories of Hercules' famous Twelve Labors. Nils (Stellan Skarsgård) is a snow plough driver somewhere in Norway. He learns that his son has died, supposedly of a heroin overdose. Nils knows his son was no addict and starts a private investigation. Soon he finds out the local drug gang is behind the crime. He hunts down the two killers and kills both of them, but not before they confess. In fourteenth century Norway, 19-year-old Signe, her younger brother, and her parents travel through lands made dangerous by the lawlessness following the Black Death. Bandits led by Dagmar kill her entire family; Dagmar herself murders Signe's brother as she watches helplessly.
