Twinkle Khanna (also known as Tina Jatin Khanna; born on 29 December 1974) is an Indian interior designer, newspaper columnist, film producer, author and former film actress. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her role in the romance film Barsaat (1995). She has also played the lead character in the Telugu film Seenu (1999). She is the daughter of established actors Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna. Her last film appearance in a lead role was in Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001). Khanna has acted opposite actors like Bobby Deol, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Daggubati Venkatesh, Govinda and Akshay Kumar.
Khanna married Kumar in 2001. After leaving the acting profession in the same year, she ventured into interior designing and is the co-owner of The White Window, a chain of interior designing stores which operates in Mumbai. She does not have a professional degree and learned the skills by working with an architect for two years. She is the co-founder of the production company Grazing Goat Pictures and has co-produced 6 features including the Marathi language drama 72 Miles. She has also done a special appearance in Tees Maar Khan (2010).
In 2009, during Lakme Fashion Week, she unbuttoned Akshay Kumar's jeans. This incident created a controversy. A social worker filed a complaint against the couple and the event organisers for obscenity. Khanna surrendered at the Vakola police station and was released on bail. In July 2013, the Bombay High Court ordered the police to prosecute Khanna and her husband.

Biography
Twinkle Khanna is the daughter of Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna. Her sister Rinke Khanna is also an actress. Her aunt was Simple Kapadia. She met Akshay Kumar for the first time during a photo session for Filmfare magazine. and married him in 2001. Together they have a son and a daughter. Kumar often credits Khanna for his success. In 2009, People magazine listed her as the 4th best dressed celebrity in India. In February 2014, she was operated at the Breach Candy hospital for the removal of a kidney stone. The only soldier brother (Ayub Khan) of a young woman, Roopa (Twinkle Khanna), returns to Chandanpur village to arrange her marriage. A festival is arranged in the happiness of Roopa's marriage, however Chandanpur's happiness is short-lived, as the village is raided by a group of terrorists. The leader of the terrorists, Gujjar, (Tinu Verma), murders a politician, and to make matters worse, Roopa's beauty catches the eye of Gujjar. However, as Gujjar attempts to escape with the terrified Roopa, her brother comes to her rescue, only to be slain, much to the horror of the village, especially Roopa. Also, her best friend, Gopal (Master Om Kapoor), is killed too, much to the dismay of Gopal's mother (Tanvi Azmi) who tried to prevent her son from rescuing Roopa (Due to his young age) which is what led Gujjar to kill him. Roopa, enraged by the fact that her brother and Gopal are no more, vows vengance. Gujjar threatens Roopa that she will only be his mistress and will never be able to have a brother nor lover. Enraged, Roopa attempts to commit suicide by jumping into a waterfall as she finds it better to kill herself rather than be a mistress. Destiny has other plans as Roopa survives and she steals the clothes of Kishan (Aamir Khan), a theatre actor. Kishan works with his best friend, truck driver, Shankar (Faisal Khan). When Kishan meets Roopa for the first time, he is smitten by her beauty and falls in love with her. Kishan decides to make Roopa the heroine of their dance show, however, Shankar warns him that Roopa will bring them in trouble. With no option, Roopa travels with them, and she tries to escape, but returns when chased by the gang and a drunk who tries to rape her. However, Roopa is saved by Shankar and Kishan. Roopa feigns love for Kishan, who wants to marry her, and the two men agree to help her return to Chandanpur. When Kishan is going to marry Roopa, who feels guilty over her betrayal, led, she tells them her story. Shankar becomes her brother, while Kishan, heartbroken, leaves in disgust. Roopa and Shankar return to Chandanpur, where Shankar mobilises the village, attempting to set a trap for Gujjar who has learnt of Roopa's survival and terrorizes the village to find out her whereabouts. The trap backfires horribly until Kishan returns with a suspended cop Pakkad Singh (Johny Lever). The trap is re-set with another carnival and the villains' attack as planned. Roopa is kidnapped and Kishan and Shankar give chase and are captured and taken to Gujjar's hideout where they are forced to fight him and his men. Eventually with the arrival of Chandanpur's villagers, good prevails and the terrorists meet a glory end. Roopa is united with her brother Shankar and her lover Kishan.

News Reporter Payal (Twinkle Khanna) and her camera-man have been assigned the task of interviewing the world's highest ranking criminal don, Devraj (Akshay Kumar), which they accept. In the process, Payal and Devraj fall in love with each other,much to the opposition of Bismillah (Mukesh Khanna), Devraj's guardian on one hand; and Police Inspector Amit (Rajat Bedi), and Payal's brother Ravi (Vivek Shauq) on the other. What results is that Ravi is killed with Devraj being blamed and arrested. Payal tesitifies against him, and Devraj is sentenced to be hanged. When Bismillah finds about this plot, he tracks them down, but Amit kills him to save himself and Payal. But Devraj escapes from custody, and begins to plot vengeance against his enemies, including Payal, as well as the real killer of Ravi. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that Amit was the one who killed Ravi and joined Thakral to frame Devraj for it. But Amit betrays Thakral and kills him. He then takes Payal on a flight where Devraj tracks him down and kills him. The story ends with Payal and Devraj getting married.
