Uwe Bohm (born 23 January 1962) is a German actor. He has appeared in over 70 films and television shows since 1976. He starred in the 1990 film Herzlich willkommen, which was entered into the 40th Berlin International Film Festival.

Au coeur de l'été 1968, il souffle un vent de liberté sur Osnabrück, dans le Nord de l'Allemagne. Wolfgang, 14 ans, poussé par cet esprit de révolte, répond par l'insolence à l'éducation stricte prodiguée par sa mère et son beau-père. Ceux-ci décident de le placer dans un internat religieux pour jeunes garçons difficiles. Wolfgang découvre ainsi la vie de caserne sous couvert d'éducation religieuse, faite de portes fermées à clé, de barreaux aux fenêtres, de châtiments corporels et de travaux dans une tourbière. Les durs conflits entre les pensionnaires s'ajoutent aux brimades des frères. Loin d'étouffer la volonté d'émancipation du jeune homme, ce quotidien exacerbe sa révolte contre l'ordre établi et contre les adultes.

The story follows the journey of three monks of the (fictional) Cantorianer Order of monks, who have until recently lived in an ancient Abbey in Brandenburg. The Cantorianer speak Latin, and maintain a religious life, in which hierarchy plays a minor role, and believe that the Holy Spirit is revealed in music, particularly in the vocals. Because of this heretical doctrine, the Cantorianer have been persecuted by the Roman Catholic Church since 1693. Today only two monasteries survive Brandenburg and the mother monastery Montecerboli in Italy.

West Germany, 1988. Yasemin and Jan are in the same judo club. Yasemin is a modern young Turkish woman. Jan is an old-fashioned womaniser. When his friends bet he cannot have Yasemin he sees this as a welcome challenge. He plays his best tricks on Yasemin who eventually takes to him because she is led to believe he was no macho but a really modern nice guy. That way she does play his heartstrings. He feels ashamed to have approached her just to impress his friends. Unfortunately this truth is eventually disclosed to her, and when it is, he is dismayed by the harm he has done. However, since this is a classic romantic movie, a happy end is inevitable after all.
