Vanessa Zachos (born 3 May) is a South African actress known for Ron Howard's Rush and J. J. Abram's TV series Fringe.

Biography

Vanessa was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her father is Greek and mother is German with French and Danish extraction. She is the middle child of five daughters. From a young age Vanessa trained in the arts. She attended highschool in Parktown, Johannesburg where she studied Art and Latin, leaving early to work. For a while she assisted a Private Investigator on cases of infidelity and worked in film production eventually moving to London, UK where she now lives. In London she worked with the Directors Guild of Great Britain and The Theosophical Society as she felt that this covered her interests in film, the metaphysical and education.


Her continuing interest in acting led her to being accepted onto courses at Central School of Speech and Drama and for a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Fellowship on their European Act program with The Actors Centre London. She has also trained in the Chubbuck Technique. Vanessa was selected as one of 40 rising talents of Africa by Berlinale Talent Campus Durban at the Durban International Film Festival.

Living temporarily in Vancouver in 2012, Vanessa was cast in a role opposite Chris Hemsworth in Ron Howards BAFTA awarded film Rush and in 2013 she appeared in a guest role in the penultimate episode of J. J. Abrams TV series Fringe directed by P. J. Pesce. Her other film credits include experimental, independent shorts and a feature.
