Wolfgang Lukschy (born 19 October 1905 – 10 July 1983 in Berlin) was a German actor and dubber. He performed in theater, film and television.
He made over 75 film and television appearances between 1940 and 1979. Possibly his most noted performances worldwide were his roles as Alfred Jodl in the 1962 American war film The Longest Day and as John Baxter in Sergio Leone's 1964 production A Fistful of Dollars alongside Clint Eastwood and Gian Maria Volonté.

In 1975, Harry Morgan (Telly Savalas) and Sylvester (Sly) Wells (Robert Culp) come up with a plan to recover six million dollars of Nazi gold, lost since the end of World War II. The story begins during the Third Reich. A crew of Nazi soldiers is driving a cargo truck through the Black Forest when they are stopped by a road block of SS commandos. The SS hijack the truck and its cargo killing its passengers. Thirty-four years later Harry Morgan is driving his Rolls Royce home in London where a repossession agent is waiting to confiscate the car. Harry gives him the keys as he boasts that he will soon own another one. He enters his family's apartment where he has a brief conversation with his wife Meredith (Lorna Dallas) about their debts and the building that is soon to be sold. As he looks through the bills he finds a letter addressed to him from someone in his past requesting to meet with him.

On 22 November 1963, the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Peter Miller, a young freelance reporter, pulls over to the curb to listen to a radio report of the event in a district in Hamburg, West Germany. As a result he happens to be stopped at a traffic signal as an ambulance passes by on a highway. He chases the ambulance and discovers it is en route to pick up the body of an elderly Jewish Holocaust survivor who had committed suicide, leaving behind no family. The reporter obtains the diary of the man, which contains information on his life in the Second World War Riga Ghetto, and the name of the SS officer who ran the camp, Eduard Roschmann.

L'équipage doit attendre 24 heures pour que ce soit réparé avant de poursuivre leur voyage (d'où le titre du film dans sa version originale). Toutefois, l'un des membres de l'équipage, le chef de cabine, semble particulièrement nerveux à l'idée de ce séjour inattendu. Des gens louches le pistent et il échappe par deux fois à un enlèvement. L'équipage, notamment le chef pilote, le protège des agissements du cartel tandis que le passé de trafiquant du stewart se révèle peu à peu. Au bout de 24 heures, l'appareil redécolle.

A stranger arrives at the little Mexican border town of San Miguel.
