Seventh-day Adventist Church pastor Michael Chamberlain (Sam Neill), his wife Lindy (Meryl Streep), their two sons, and their nine-week-old daughter Azaria are on a camping holiday trip in the Outback. With the baby sleeping in their tent, the family is enjoying a barbecue with their fellow campers when a cry is heard. Lindy returns to the tent to check on Azaria and is certain she sees a dingo with something in its mouth running off as she approaches. When she discovers the infant is missing, everyone joins forces to search for her, without success. It is assumed what Lindy saw was the animal carrying off the child, and a subsequent inquest rules her account of events is true.

Les Valeureux sont un clan de Juifs modestes et hauts en couleur vivant à Céphalonie, dans les Iles Ioniennes dans les années 1930. Mangeclous est le manipulateur et le profiteur du clan, se prétendant avocat en réalité à peine écrivain public. Attirés à Genève par la promesse d'un trésor que leur a fait miroiter un mystérieux courrier, ils prennent le chemin de la Suisse en grand équipage menés par l'oncle Saltiel qui dispose d'une certaine autorité sur la famille. Ils sont rejoints à Marseille par Scipion, un marseillais camarade de régiment de Mangeclous. Arrivés à Genève après les pérégrinations rocambolesques d'un voyage très dépaysant pour eux, ils ne comprennent toujours pas que l'auteur du courrier mystérieux n'est autre que le prince du clan, le brillant Solal qui est haut fonctionnaire à la Société des Nations. Mangeclous, l'infatigable baratineur du clan tente plusieurs manœuvres afin de s'approprier le trésor promis mais Saltiel déjoue ses plans et les valeureux finissent par rencontrer Solal dans son luxueux bureau. Le trésor n'existe pas ou plutôt il est simplement dans la réunification du clan et dans l'abondant repas que lui offre Solal et qui, pour Mangeclous, suffit à justifier le voyage.

The film is set in Moscow not long after the October Revolution where a complaining stray dog looks for food and shelter. A well-off well-known surgeon Phillip Phillippovich Preobrazhensky happens to need a dog and lures the animal to his big home annex practice with a piece of sausage. The dog is named Sharik and well taken care of by the doctor's maids, but still wonders why he's there. He finds out too late he's needed as a test animal: the doctor implants a pituitary gland and testicles of a recently deceased alcoholic and petty criminal Klim Chugunkin into Sharik. Sharik proceeds to become more and more human during the next days. After his transition to human is complete, it turns out that he inherited all the negative traits of the donor - bad manners, aggressiveness, use of profanity, heavy drinking - but still hates cats. He picks for himself an absurd name Poligraf Poligrafovich Sharikov, starts working at the "Moscow Cleansing Department responsible for eliminating vagrant quadrupeds (cats, etc.)" and associating with revolutionaries, who plot to drive Preobrazhensky out of his big apartment. Eventually he turns the life in the professor's house into a nightmare by stealing money, breaking his furniture, a water ballet during a cat chase and blackmailing into marriage a girl he met at the cinema. The professor with his assistant are then urged to reverse the procedure. Sharikov turns back into a dog. As Sharik he does remember little about what has happened to him but isn't much concerned about that. To his content he is left to live in the professor's apartment.

While on a routine patrol on United States airspace west of Alaska, pilots Doug "Thumper" Masters and Matt "Cobra" Cooper test the g-forces of their F-16C planes. Their antics get them carried away, as they stray over Soviet airspace. As they are being escorted back into U.S. airspace, one of the Soviet planes has Doug on missile-lock. This leads to a brief dogfight. In the ensuing battle, Matt loses control of his plane and is too late to save Doug, who is shot down by the Soviets. The next day, the U.S. Secretary of Defense publicly denies the incident, claiming a training accident caused by a fuel system malfunction killed Doug. This later revealed in Iron Eagle on the Attack that Doug actually survived by ejecting before his aircraft exploded and became a POW for a few years until released on goodwill.

Mickey Mouse's 60th Birthday special is being taped and as his appearance in the show draws to a close, Mickey finds himself trying to decide how he should present himself to his audience. Rummaging through an old trunk, he finds the magic hat from The Sorcerer's Apprentice segment of Fantasia and considers using it, but he is warned by the sorcerer who owns the hat (who was not Yen Sid) that he shouldn't be using other people's magic when he has his own, which Mickey initially doesn't understand. With that in mind, Mickey goes out on stage along with his birthday cake, provided by Roger Rabbit, who realizes that he placed a stick of dynamite on the cake instead of a candle. In his attempt to put the dynamite out, Roger ends up destroying the set, which prompts Mickey to use the magic from the hat to repair the damage. The audience screams for more and Mickey agrees to do so, but when he does, he suddenly vanishes.

Parallèlement à cela, Jean-Roger est jaloux de son frère Thierry et du couple qu'il forme avec une journaliste. La jeune femme est violée par Jean-Roger et sa bande. Thierry intervient, mais il est pourchassé par la bande. Le père le sauve, muni d'un fusil. Il tue trois des participants au tabassage de Thierry. Jean-Roger, qui a un pistolet, riposte et tue, sans vraiment le vouloir, son père... et, accessoirement, le serin de Bruno qui s'était échappé de l'appartement. Bruno trouve le serin mort et le pistolet que Jean-Roger, ivre, a abandonné ; désespéré de la mort de son seul vrai ami, Bruno retourne l'arme contre lui et se suicide. Jean-Roger finit en prison à Fleury-Mérogis, d'où il écrira une lettre à son ex-professeure principale.

A man who claims to be Santa Claus (Douglas Seale) arrives at the Orlando International Airport in Florida. Ernest P. Worrell (Jim Varney) is working as a taxi driver. The film plot takes its starting point from the French play The Human Voice (La Voix humaine, 1930) by Jean Cocteau where a desperate woman tries to avoid being dumped by her lover through a series of phone calls. In the film TV actress Pepa Marcos (Carmen Maura) is depressed and taking sleeping pills because her boyfriend Iván (Fernando Guillén) has just left her. Both she and Iván work as voice-over actors who dub foreign films, notably Johnny Guitar with Joan Crawford and Sterling Hayden. The voice he uses to sweet-talk her (and many other women) is the same one he uses in his work. He is about to leave on a trip and has asked Pepa to pack his things in a suitcase that he will pick up later.
