Mac Ramsey et Li Ann sont amants mais aussi voleurs professionnels. Orphelins, ils ont été élevés par le Parrain de la pègre de Hong Kong. Les deux jeunes gens s'enfuient après avoir voler leur père adoptifs mais sont bien vite rattrapé par le troisième fils, Michael Tang. Après une altercation avec la triade, les deux fugitifs disparaissent à Vancouver. Mac après avoir été arrêté par une organisation secrète est désormais entraîné par la mystérieuse Directrice qui veut faire tomber l'homme qui l'a élevé. Pensant que Mac était mort, Li Ann de son côté a refait sa vie et est la fiancée de Victor Mansfield, un policier de Vancouver. Bien vite, le trio va se retrouver à avoir une cible commune : Michael et l'organisation du Parrain.

Le père de Jason Smith, sur son lit de mort, lui fait promettre de disperser ses cendres sur la tombe de sa femme, la mère de Jason, morte alors que Jason était encore très jeune. She Cried No tells the story of Melissa, a college freshman anxious to fit in with the popular crowd. After arriving, she immediately befriends her roommates Jordan and Kellie and attracts the attention of Scott, the member of the college's most popular fraternity (to which her brother, Michael, also belongs) who has a history of date raping fellow female students. She and Jordan attend a party at Scott's frat; there, she becomes the latest victim of Scott, who drugs her. Before he takes her upstairs to a room to rape her, she notices a passed out Jordan being taken to a room by a guy as well. Upstairs, Scott turns on loud music, and then rapes her. Melissa manages to escape his room afterwards and flees from the frat house in tears.

Two hitmen, Lee Woods (James Spader) and Dosmo Pizzo (Danny Aiello), walk into a bedroom where a sleeping couple, aspiring Olympic athlete Becky Foxx and her loser ex-husband Roy Foxx, are in bed. Lee injects Becky (Teri Hatcher) with a tranquilizer then shoots Roy in the head. Lee and Dosmo then drive to an abandoned area of Mulholland Drive, where Lee shoots Dosmo and blows up the car in order to set Dosmo up as the fall guy for the murder. Lee flees the scene with his glamorous Norwegian girlfriend Helga (Charlize Theron).
