Perry Miller est l'ancien leader d'un groupe de punk rock qui a connu son heure de gloire dans les années 1990 avant de se séparer. Il a depuis repris une vie ordinaire, travaillant dans l'affaire familiale désormais dirigée par Jake, son frère cadet. Il est marié avec Karen, une avocate, et a une fille adolescente, Salome, guitariste talentueuse, et un nouveau-né. Le jour de ses 40 ans, il s'aperçoit que tout le monde a oublié son anniversaire. The movie starts with Junpei being kidnapped by a member of Strega, Chidori Yoshino, while Makoto and the rest are fighting Takaya, Jin, and the Shadow Arcana Hanged Man. As they're fighting, Makoto is knocked unconscious and sees a vision of Pharos, telling Makoto that he will be leaving despite Makoto's plead for him not to. Awakened, Makoto and his friends succeed in defeating the Shadow Arcana and save Junpei. Following the Shadow's defeat, Takaya and Jin retreat while Chidori is captured by SEES. The next day, Makoto and his friends along with Takeharu Kirijo decide to celebrate their victory for defeating all twelve Shadow Arcana and destroying Dark Hour. However, during the celebration party when the time reaches midnight, the Dark Hour started, shocking them. They then confront Ikutsuki at Tartarus, revealing that he had changed the recordings made by Yukari's father to lead them to defeating the twelve Shadow Arcana, which will bring the end of the world known as "The Fall". Using Aigis' controller, he controls Aigis to capture and crucify all SEES members except Takeharu whom Aigis holds at gunpoint. Takeharu breaks free and shoots Ikutsuki, but he is fatally shot as well by the latter, killing him. Just before Aigis could kill them, she regains control of herself and instead frees her friends. Cornered, Ikutsuki falls to his death from the tower due to his gunshot wound.

Due to an unfortunate accident during the Spring of April 6, 2009, Makoto Yuki (Akira Ishida) arrives in the city late at night on a delayed train. Upon disembarking at midnight, a strange phenomenon grips the city—shutting down all forms of technology and causing humans to become encased in coffins. Unperturbed, Makoto casually makes his way to the Iwatodai Dormitory where a mysterious boy (Akira Ishida) greets him with a contract after which he meets fellow dormmates, Yukari Takeba (Megumi Toyoguchi) and Mitsuru Kirijo (Rie Tanaka), albeit the pair weary of his arrival at midnight.

Christian Wolff est un génie mathématique et spécialiste de juricomptabilité qui travaille pour une firme comptable en Illinois. Il accepte des contrats de groupes criminels, contrats transmis par téléphone portable (cellulaire) par une femme inconnue, « La Voix ». Dans son enfance, lors d'une visite au Harbor Neuroscience Institute, centre pour enfants atteints de troubles de santé mentale, les parents de Christian reçoivent l'offre de laisser leur enfant sous la responsabilité du directeur, qui propose de trouver les conditions de vie où Christian s'épanouira. Entre-temps, Christian établit un lien avec Justine, troublée et muette. Le père de Christian, un officier militaire américain, rejette la proposition, jugeant que son fils doit surmonter son handicap. Plus tard, la mère quitte la famille parce qu'elle est incapable de supporter plus longuement les comportements excentriques, parfois violents, de Christian ; elle abandonne aussi son deuxième garçon, Braxton. Dans le but de les aider à relever les défis de leur vie adulte, le père engage des spécialistes pour former ses deux fils au combat.

The story follows former punk rocker Perry (Billie Joe Armstrong) who is ten years into his band's "indefinite hiatus" and is struggling with his adjustment to the real world (which includes working in his family's hardware store). When Perry's hotshot attorney wife (Selma Blair) and precocious young daughter forget his 40th birthday, his brother (Chris Messina) takes pity and gives him the money to throw a huge rockstar blowout in a fancy New York hotel. At the party, Perry's punk past clashes hilariously with his middle-aged reality as he encounters crazy former bandmates and an old-flame-turned-manager (Judy Greer), who offers him a chance to revive his stalled career.

Une créature géante se manifeste dans la baie de Tokyo, avant de faire surface et de terroriser la ville. Le cabinet ministériel se réunit d'urgence, mais le Premier Ministre est incapable de prendre une décision. Les radiations mesurées sur le passage de la créature démontrent qu'elle est le triste produit d'une contamination. Plus tard, elle évolue et revient sous une forme encore plus monstrueuse, réduisant Tokyo en poussière. Devant l'ampleur de la menace, les États-Unis décident d'utiliser l'arme nucléaire sur le Japon si ce dernier échoue à éradiquer la menace, réveillant le spectre des bombardements d'Hiroshima et de Nagasaki. Une équipe de chercheurs se regroupe alors en marge des décisions du Cabinet pour déterminer comment éliminer le monstre, surnommé "Godzilla". La France et l'Allemagne finiront par s'en mêler à leur tours.

L'histoire commence au Japon en 1814, pendant la période Edo. Edo est la ville actuellement appelée Tokyo. O-Ei est l'une des quatre filles du peintre Tetsuzo, qui se fait ensuite connaître sous le nom de Katsushika Hokusai. Le film se déroule au moment où O-Ei accède à l'âge adulte tandis que son père, âgé d'une grande cinquantaine d'années, est déjà un artiste reconnu dans son pays. Dans son atelier où règne un désordre monstrueux, Tetsuzo passe son temps à créer de somptueuses œuvres d'art. Il est capable de dessiner un ogre sur une surface de 120 tatamis comme de peindre deux moineaux sur un grain de riz, de dessiner des hommes influents, des dragons ou des scènes érotiques. C'est un homme à l'humeur changeante, sarcastique, qui n'est pas mû par la soif de l'argent. O-Ei tient de son père son talent et son obstination. Elle peint très souvent à sa place, sans signer son travail, afin de boucler les commandes ; elle n'obtient donc aucune reconnaissance pour son talent.

The movie starts with SEES' battle in a full moon phase on July. Junpei Iori, Akihiko Sanada, and Mitsuru Kirijo are fighting the Shadow Arcana Hierophant with Fuka Yamagishi providing tactical support for them. Meanwhile Makoto Yuki and Yukari Takeba are captured by the Shadow Arcana Lovers and under its spell but eventually free themselves from it. Defeating the Hierophant, Junpei, Akihiko, and Mitsuru regroup with Makoto and Yukari, and they defeat the Arcana Lovers. Unbeknownst to them, they are observed by three mysterious people. Makoto and the others goes to Yakushima for a break and they spend most of the day playing at the beach. While trying to flirt with women under Junpei's insistence, Makoto encounters a mysterious blonde haired girl. At night, Mitsuru's father, Takeharu Kirijo, gathers everyone and reveals that the Dark Hour and the Shadows were created by an accident caused by Mitsuru's grandfather Kouetsu Kirijo and Yukari's father Eiichiro Takeba in an attempt to create a device that could manipulate time. He shows a video left by Yukari's father, who reveals that SEES can end the Dark Hour by destroying the twelve Arcana Shadows. This revelation shocks Yukari who feels responsible for her father's sin, but Makoto comforts her. Entering the Dark Hour, Makoto and Yukari are attacked by Shadows and are almost killed until the blonde haired girl from earlier, revealed to be a Persona user, saved them. Shuji Ikutsuki introduces the girl as Aigis, a 7th Generation Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon developed by the Kirijo Group, and she joins SEES.
