Revelations Entertainment is an independent movie production company founded by actor Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary in 1996. In 2006, Revelations became the first film production company in history to distribute a film (10 Items or Less) online while the movie was still playing in theaters. This was achieved by using (now-defunct) ClickStar (also founded by Freeman and McCreary as a joint venture with Intel Corporation) as their online distribution site.

On 11 February 1990, Nelson Mandela is released from Victor Verster Prison after having spent 27 years in jail. Four years later, Mandela is elected the first black President of South Africa. His presidency faces enormous challenges in the post-Apartheid era, including rampant poverty and crime, and Mandela is particularly concerned about racial divisions between black and white South Africans, which could lead to violence. Roger (Christopher Walken) is a security guard at an art museum who is only rarely in motion, opting rather to stare at his favorite painting, The Lonely Maiden, a beautiful woman staring forlornly out into the distance.
