.45 is an independent 2006 thriller film starring Milla Jovovich, Angus Macfadyen, Aisha Tyler, Stephen Dorff, and Sarah Strange. Gary Lennon, whose last feature was 1995's Drunks, wrote and directed the film. Variety describes the film as a "doublecross pic set in the underworld of Hell's Kitchen." .45 was released theatrically in Greece, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and Mexico.

Synopsis

Big Al (Angus Macfadyen), and his girlfriend Kat (Milla Jovovich), are small-time gun dealers in Queens, New York City. They both live in a happy relationship and both sell guns around, while also cleverly avoiding the NYPD and ATF on them. They live in a shabby apartment together. However, Vic (Sarah Strange), a lesbian best friend of Kat who also has a crush on her, doesn't approve of them and hates Big Al.

The film opens with a flashforward to moments after the shooting. This is quickly followed by a scene with Valerie Solanas (Lili Taylor) in custody for the shooting of Andy Warhol (Jared Harris). The film then takes us back to a time when Valerie is living in New York making a living as a sex worker. A series of further flashbacks point to her difficult childhood, and success in studying psychology at college. Here, Valerie discovers that she is a lesbian, that she can write, and that she has a distinctive view of the world. This leads her to New York City and its downtown underworld. Through her friend Stevie (Martha Plimpton), she meets Candy Darling (Stephen Dorff), who in turn introduces her to Andy Warhol.

Honey Whitlock is a Hollywood A-list actress whose public persona is that of a sweet and considerate woman, but who is actually profane, unreasonable, and demanding. Mercenary thief Laure Ash (Rebecca Romijn) participates in a diamond heist in Cannes. In Paris, a series of events causes Laure to be mistaken for her own doppelgänger, a missing Parisian woman named "Lily" (also portrayed by Romijn) who had recently disappeared. While Laure luxuriates in a tub in Lily's home, the real Lily returns and commits suicide while Laure secretly watches, providing Laure the opportunity to take her identity for good, and she leaves the country for America.

Corky (Gina Gershon), an ex-con who has just finished a five-year jail sentence, arrives at an apartment building to start work as a painter and plumber.
