Synopsis
L'Électeur de Brandebourg Frédéric III veut que sa résidence à Berlin soit un monument remarquable parmi les plus grands. Les dessins représentatifs mettent en avant par leur aspect la magnificence de Frédéric. Mais les intrigues de la Cour rendent difficile le choix d'un artiste qui puisse répondre aux désirs du souverain. Finalement on prend Andreas Schlüter après qu'il a présenté une statue équestre de l'Électeur. Frédéric en est très satisfait et fait de lui son architecte de cour. La première mission sera d'agrandir le château de Berlin et de l'orner grandement.Actors

Friedberg, vers 1850. Andreas Halm arrive encore avec son mauvais violon, avec lequel il accompagne son élève et sa petite amie secrète Agnès qui joue du piano. Il lui sera difficile de convaincre de son habileté en trois jours le virtuose George Hellmesberger, venu donner un concert à Homburg. Andreas veut un vrai violon, comme celui que l'on trouve dans le musée d'histoire de la musique de Homburg. Il montre à Agnes les violons du musée, quand on installe la nouvelle possession du musée : un véritable Stradivarius. Andreas est fasciné par l'instrument, tout comme Agnes. Il ne descend pas de son rêve alors qu'il est le second violon du Friedberg'schen Quartett et joue dans une auberge. Il lui vient une idée.

Nanon Patin par sa voix unique et légère, fait la joie de petits marquis, qui viennent l'écouter près de Paris, dans l'auberge où elle chante. Hector un jeune fat et le marquis d'Aubigné, qui fait partie du cercle de Ninon de l'Enclos font le défi d'embrasser Nanon. Le marquis d'Aubigné se fait passer pour un tambour de la garde et chante une sérénade à la belle qui est conquise... Tellement conquise, qu'elle décide de l'épouser et fait venir sa parentèle. Le faux tambour ne peut que fuir avec la complicité de soldats qui font mine de l'arrêter pour s'être prétendument battu en duel. Or le roi vient de signer un édit interdisant le duel sous peine de prison.
