Synopsis
Alex's (Corey Sevier) mundane life is changed forever when he has a brief encounter with a mysterious woman named Rachel (Jordan Ladd). His hopes of running into her again are shattered when he learns that she was killed in an accident shortly after they had met. Feeling grief over what could have been, Alex falls asleep…and wakes up in her bed. She kisses him, telling him that she loves him.Actors

Orville "Gabby" Denton is an alcoholic drifter with a chronic gambling problem. Despite his flaws he is beloved by his family. Gabby's brother-in-law Beef gets Gabby work as a mechanic at the Metropolitan Garage. The shop is a front to a stolen car ring. His brother-in-law Beef, who is otherwise honest, is aware of this. One day, Gabby is sent to pick up Silver, Jenkins's girl friend, whose car has broken down. Both Gabby and Silver start a relationship, after which Silver leaves Jenkins. During a getaway one of car thieves hits Gabby's nephew Buddy, who is in the street driving a toy car. The driver makes it to the garage, and Buddy receives treatment at a hospital. A witness points out the car to Gabby, and he understands it's the car that drove into the garage to be repainted. He investigates and discovers a piece of Buddy's little car in the wheel of the stolen car. When he confronts Beef, Beef gets drunk and confronts Jenkins and the head of the stolen car ring. They kill Beef, making his death look accidental. Photographer Bill Jones gives Gabby a photograph of Beef in the car before the accident, which shows Beef was already dead. Silver and Gabby confront Jenkins. The criminals drive away, but die in a car crash. With the hoodlums out of the way, Gabby marries Silver.

In post-apocalyptic Columbia, a group of survivors led by Uri and the elders are organized as a tribe, in a primitive society without technology and lives in a small village in the Grey Rock National Park surrounded by beasts that transmit a disease that transforms the victims into mutants. Jan, jeune femme majeure vit seule avec son père, Stephen, un grand avocat miné par l'alcoolisme. Le père et la fille sont extrêmement attachés l'un à l'autre. Stephen a élevé sa fille dans un esprit de liberté, partant du principe qu'elle doit faire ses expériences elle-même et en tirer les leçons, ce genre de comportement place Stephen et Jan en porte à faux vis-à-vis du reste de leur famille. Stephen doit défendre Ace Wilfong un gangster accusé de meurtre et qui n'a que peu de chance d'échapper à la potence. Dans les coulisses du procès, Wilfong est présenté à Jan et les deux jeunes gens ne sont pas insensibles l'un à l'autre. Pendant que le procès se termine Jan rend visite à sa grand-mère qui fête ses 100 ans. au cours de la réception Dwight annonce qu'il a l'intention de se fiancer avec Jan. Stephen qui a réussi à innocenter Wilfong la rejoint un peu plus tard en compagnie de ce dernier. La famille fait alors comprendre à Wilfong qui n'est pas le bienvenu. Cette attitude choque Jan qui s'en va avec lui.
