Three wealthy, savvy high school seniors, Stream Hodsell (Bonnie Root), a smart, down-to-earth strawberry blonde, sassy Jenny Simon (Gaby Hoffmann), who masks her intelligence behind a guise of fishnet stockings, and soulful Nell Kellner (Tricia Vessey) attend the prestigious and expensive Halton School in Manhattan and have everything - brains, beauty, money, popularity, powerful parents, and boyfriends like Chad (James Roday) and a garage band musician, Henry Rockefeller Lipschitz (Ryan Reynolds). They have it all but are still unfulfilled. After losing her virginity without obtaining sexual satisfaction, Stream is confused as well as unfulfilled and studies the problem with self-help books, women's magazines and the comically misinformed advice of her peers. Judy Hodsell (Mia Farrow) is Stream's distracted ex-hippie mom, Dick Hodsell (Ryan O'Neal) is her yuppie father with a new young girlfriend, Mimi (Yasmine Bleeth), and Mr. Jennings (Spalding Gray) is a feel-good career counselor., 1h47

Alex Whitman (Matthew Perry) is an architect from New York City who is sent to Las Vegas to supervise the construction of a nightclub that his firm has been hired to build. Alex is a strait-laced WASP-ish type who, while enjoying a night on the town, meets Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek), a free-spirited Mexican-American photographer. Alex and Isabel are overtaken by lust at first sight and end up spending the night together; however, their immediate attraction doesn't last in the cold light of day, and they don't see each other for another three months. When they do meet again, it's because Isabel has some interesting news for Alex: She's pregnant with his child. Alex and Isabel decide that they should do the right thing and quickly get married (with an Elvis impersonator serving as witness), but after Isabel meets Alex's mom (Jill Clayburgh) and Alex is confronted by Isabel's father (Tomas Milian), both start to wonder if "doing the right thing" was just that, especially as Alex tries to balance his career in New York with Isabel's desire to continue working in Nevada., 1h33

The story concerns a group of guys who have made a deal to each invest in a fund, which would be paid to the last remaining bachelor of the group. Michael Delaney, a cartoonist, attempts to get the other remaining bachelor, Kyle Brenner, married to a statuesque policewoman who Kyle said was the one that got away, so Michael can claim the fund to pay off a gambling debt. Unfortunately, the policewoman Kyle is trying to marry is the woman Michael has fallen in love with, Officer Natalie Parker. Michael then gets himself into all sorts of misadventures, from getting captured by a young woman and her grandmother with a bizarre BDSM fetish (the young woman seems like a quiet librarian at first glance) to trying to retrieve Kyle's surgically removed testicle, all the while attempting to pay off his gambling debt to the honked-off mobster menacing through selling his possessions, relieving himself of his "Tomcat" status, overcoming his fear of commitment, and finding true love., 1h49
