Synopsis
Dans un univers cyberpunk, en 2019, la cité de Cyber-wood est menacée par la propagation d’un bidonville uncontrôllable, surnommé le « cancer » . Un projet visant à pacifier ce bidonville est développé en utilisant le pouvoir de l’asténite à des fins pacifiques. Cette matière découverte en 1995 permet de convertir l’énergie vitale des organismes en une forme d’énergie nouvelle. Hélas, le projet est mis à mal par une opposition intra-gouvernemental et les activités d’un groupe obscur visant à faire renaitre un démon de la destruction. Lors du test de l’armure psychique Guard Suit fonctionnant à partir de l’asténite, le pilote d’essai John Stalker se retrouve posséder par un ancien démon et prisonnier d’une armure cybernétique destructrice de l’obscure Dr. Volks opérant depuis le bidonville.Actors

The film is set in the Midwestern American Raccoon City, whose citizens have been transformed into zombies after becoming infected with the T-virus, a biological weapon secretly developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella. A military squad – consisting of leader Claus (Masaki Aizawa) and his men Roger (Hiroto Torihata), Ed (Hideto Ebihara), Robert (Tadasuke Omizu) and Norman (Yoshiyuki Kaneko) – is sent into the city by the company. With their power dwindling due to the absence of their leader, the remnants of Frieza's army are led by an alien named Sorbet (ソルベ, Sorube), who decides to revive their master. He then sets off to Earth with one other minion, Tagoma (タゴマ, Tagoma), where they convince Pilaf, Mai, and Shu, who have collected the Dragon Balls to let them summon Shenlong instead. As Shenlong is unable to fully revive Frieza, he brings him back to life in pieces, which his minions reassemble using their advanced technology over the following two months. Once restored, Frieza plans revenge against Goku, and then kills Tagoma when he objects to this, and learns that Goku has gotten much stronger, to the point of defeating Majin Boo and thus, he decides he too needs to become more powerful. Frieza reveals that, since his power was inborn, he had never trained a day in his life, and so he trains himself for the first time, before returning to Earth with his army four months later. Jaco the Galactic Patrolman travels to earth to warn Bulma that Frieza is approaching, and she gathers the other Z fighters to fight him. With Goku and Vegeta training on Beerus' Planet with Whis, unaware that Frieza has been revived, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Master Roshi, Tien Shinhan and Jaco fight off Frieza's soldiers. Frieza, even in his base form, is more than a match for the five and almost kills Gohan with a single punch.

The film opens with Piccolo being attacked and supposedly killed by a group of shadowed fighters. Chi-Chi along with her father, Ox King, and Gohan are attacked by the same group. Goku is out fishing during the attack and after sensing danger, he returns only to find his son has been kidnapped. The group responsible for the attack are Garlic Jr.'s henchmen, and it is later revealed that their reason for kidnapping Gohan was to retrieve the four-star Dragon Ball that was attached to his hat. After gathering the remaining Dragon Balls, Garlic Jr. summons Shenron and he immediately wishes for immortality. Shenron, never having had to grant this type of demand before, grants Garlic Jr. his wish. A furious Goku arrives to try to take back his son, but soon discovers Garlic Jr.'s new power. Kami makes an appearance (which surprises Garlic Jr., who thought that his henchmen had killed Piccolo) and meets up with Goku, and describes a brief history of Garlic Jr. and his father Garlic. Goku then proceeds to try to find Gohan when he is attacked by the villain's gang, whilst Kami faces Garlic Jr.

Curse of the Blood Rubies is a modified adaptation of the initial story arc in the Dragon Ball manga, with the original character King Gurumes substituting Emperor Pilaf's role as the main antagonist. Like in the manga, Curse of the Blood Rubies depicts how Goku meets up with Bulma. A stunt pilot trio called the "Flying Angels" (Scott Masterson, Chuck Gavin, and Beth O'Brien), are caught in a bizarre flash of light and crash, only to emerge unharmed. They are later informed by an agent of an interstellar peace-keeping agency (whose secret identity is the groundskeeper at a Pebble Beach golf course) that they have become the host bodies of warriors from the planet Altara in M78 to capture escaped monsters from the planet Sorkin who have arrived on Earth. They become the Ultra Force, headquartered within Mount Rushmore, and are assisted by a trio of robots, (the pint-sized Andy, the strong Samson, and the twitchy Ulysses). Although equipped with futuristic fighter crafts, inevitably one or more of the team is required to transform into an Ultraman, a gigantic red and silver superhuman being, to battle the monsters. After destroying the most powerful Sorkin monster, the constantly growing King Maira, the Ultra Force remains together to combat further threats to planet Earth.

In the film, Freeza's older brother Cooler is introduced. It begins with a flashback to when Freeza destroyed the Saiyan home world, Planet Vegeta. Cooler's ship soon picks up a Saiyan space pod on the radar. The pod, carrying a baby Saiyan named Kakarot, is shown to be heading towards Earth, but Cooler's henchmen believe it is an escape. Cooler lets the ship go, accounting that it's Freeza's naïveté, and responsibility. More than twenty years later, Kakarot, eventually renamed Goku, transforms into a Super Saiyan and defeats Freeza on Planet Namek. Despite showing no compassion towards his brother, Cooler takes his Armored Squadron - Doore, Neiz, and Salza to Earth with the intention of killing Goku in order to reclaim his family's honor. His forces ambush Goku and his friends on a camping trip, and Goku is wounded when he takes a blast from Cooler that was intended for Gohan.

On 16 July 1988, an orb of light destroys Tokyo and World War III begins. In the Other World, a teenage "oni" guarding a spirit cleansing machine turns the volume of his walkman up so loud that he fails to change the evil essence tank when necessary. Due to the overload of evil essence, the machine explodes and the "oni" is transformed into a huge-childlike monster with power over the laws regarding the worlds of the living and the dead. As a result, both worlds are thrown into chaos: in the living world, several deceased are brought back to life, while in the other world, beings who were allowed to keep their bodies turn into spirits, and vice versa.
