Synopsis
Many years ago, Inspector Kam Chi-kin (Bryan Leung) killed an innocent man and decided to resign from the police force. He then became a professional killer, paid by Uncle Hung (Che Hung), and disguises as a pet store owner in order to earn money to raise his son. His best friend, Bobby Chow Fuk-cheung (Fei Xiang) recently returned from UK and works under Superintendent Lau Cheuk-aang (Paul Chu). Chow has been investigating recent murder cases that were done by Kam. Later, as one of his colleague Sam (Kirk Wong) is murdered, Chow discovered the mastermind behind these cases were actually Superintendent Lau. Lau then murders one of his subordinate Man (Cheung Ming-man), mistaken him to have discovered his identity. Later, Uncle Hung takes Kam's son hostage and orders him to kill Chow. Kam later disguises Chow's murder and they both confront Lau, Hung, the gang and two police officers Wai (Chan Chik-wai) and Chicken Blood.Actors

The Royal Hong Kong Police Force is planning a major undercover sting to arrest crime lord Chu Tao (Chor Yuen). Inspector Chan Ka-Kui (or Kevin Chan in some versions) is part of the operation, along with undercover officers stationed in a shanty town. However, the criminals spot the police and the ensuing car chase cuts through the hillside shanty town. Ka-Kui persists in his chase, eventually following on foot as the drug lord attempts to escape in a double-decker bus. Ka Kui manages to get in front of the bus and bring it to a halt by threatening to shoot the driver with his service revolver.

Leung Chun Yue (Bryan Leung) is a famous architect who is about to marry his girlfriend Hydi. He is by chance reunited with Wong Kin Hang (Damian Lau), a long lost friend whom Leung invites to be his house as a guest. Chun-yau (Bryan Leung) was adopted as a little orphan boy by a humble rich man under one rainy-night who already had a mean young son. Chun-yau has developed into a fine kung fu fighter who is on the run with his newly-wedded wife Yuet-yee (Fanny Wang) from his step-brother Cho-wing (Chang Yi), whom is madly after his sister-in-law. The jealous son holds a grudge against his stepbrother because he blame Chun-yau for the lost of his eye (and now wears a jade patch over the eye). Now, Cho-wing has made it his goal to hunt down Chun-yau and his bride, prompting the newlyweds to spend their lives together running in fear from the gang leader. One fine day, Fatty (Sammo Hung) spots Chun-yau helping an old man from being crushed by a loaded-cart. Fatty challenges Chun-yau but is ultimately defeated. However, Chun-yau is not interested in becoming Fatty's master since he is more worried about his own domestic problems. Apparently Fatty has promised his ancestors that he shall learn proper kung fu by training under the man who beats him (and Chun-yau is the first to do so.). However, Chun-yau and his wife are trying to keep a low profile and they want nothing to do with Fatty, as all he does is attract attention. Fatty, meanwhile, can’t help but wonder why such a great martial artist lives in fear.

Leung Kwan (Bryan Leung) is a coolie who gets to a fight with worker Yu (Lee Chiu) over a misunderstanding. While their misunderstanding was resolved, they become friends. Meanwhile, a corrupt businessman Black Eagle (Philip Ko) is planning to take over the supply routes. Yu stands uop to him and challenges to fight several of his henchmen where he is killed as a result. After seeing this, Leung vows to seek revenge despite his lackluster martial arts skills. Leung then meets Master Lin Tao-hoi (Wong Hap), a merchant and martial arts instructor who becomes Leung's boss and mentor. Black Eagle then kills Lin and Leung's friends. Later, Chen Sun (Wong Chung) a fighter who have been tracking Black Eagle from Northern China for six years, poses as a coolie where he meets Leung, and together, they join forces to take down Black Eagle.
