Il s'agit de l'adaptation cinématographique du manga éponyme écrit par Tsugumi Ōba, dessiné par Takeshi Obata et publié au Japon entre 2003 et 2006.
Il est projeté en avant-première mondiale le 24 août 2017 au Festival international « FrightFest » de Londres.
Synopsis
Light Turner est un étudiant surdoué en droit de Seattle aux États-Unis. Son père, James Turner, est policier. Il finit par tomber sur un mystérieux livre qui lui confère la possibilité de tuer n'importe qui, de la manière qu'il souhaite, avec seulement pour information acquise, le nom et prénom de la personne ainsi que son visage. C'est avec l'aide de Mia, sa petite amie, que Light commence sa vendetta et tue, au début, des petites crapules et des criminels. Il finit par se faire appeler Kira. Et pour faire face à notre justicier, un homme qui résout les affaires les plus complexes et qui voit Kira comme un meurtrier. Cet homme se fait appeler L.Actors
