Din of Celestial Birds is a 2006 American experimental short film written, produced and directed by E. Elias Merhige in cooperation with the Q6 production group, a collective of philosophers and artists.
The film deals with the concept of evolution as well as the birth of consciousness. It is the second of an unofficial trilogy of experimental films, the preceding film being Begotten (1991), which deals with the Genesis creation narrative. Stephen Charles Barry appears for the first time since his debut in Begotten as the Son of Earth, now as the Son of Light.
Synopsis
The film begins with the phrase "hello and welcome ... do not be afraid ... be comforted ... remember ... our origin..." and proceeds to depict the first violent formation of matter from nothingness. Then, after a hyper-accelerated trip through the evolution of life and the earth, the film culminates in the birth of an embryonic pseudo-humanoid that reaches to some unknown source.Comments

A man is seated in a diner who is revealed as Harold, a traveling salesman. He is joined by a gentleman who makes him uncomfortable. After leaving the diner, Harold is found dead, which leads to FBI Agents Thomas Mackelway (Aaron Eckhart) and Fran Kulok (Carrie-Anne Moss) being brought in on the case. There appears to be history between Mackelway and Kulok and a cloud of competency is addressed by flashbacks of Mackelway's recent suspension and issues he's undergone. As the investigation proceeds, the agents begin to become aware of the possible existence of "Suspect Zero", a mythical "super serial killer" responsible for hundreds of deaths across all 50 states who leaves no evidence behind to link his crimes together.

In 1921, German director Frederich Wilhelm Murnau takes his cast and crew on-location in Czechoslovakia to shoot Nosferatu, an unauthorized version of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. Murnau keeps his team in the dark about their schedule and the actor playing the vampire Count Orlok. It is left to the film's other main actor, Gustav von Wangenheim, to explain that the lead is an obscure German theater performer named Max Schreck, who is a character actor. To involve himself fully in his role, Schreck will only appear amongst the cast and crew in makeup, and will never break character.

The story opens with a disfigured man bleeding uncontrollably and beginning to scar himself in flames. A robed, profusely bleeding "God" disemboweling itself, with the act ultimately ending in its death. A woman, Mother Earth, emerges from its remains, arouses the body, and impregnates herself with its semen. Becoming pregnant, she wanders off into a vast and barren landscape. The pregnancy manifests in a fully grown convulsing man whom she leaves to his own devices. The "Son of Earth" meets a group of faceless nomads who seize him with what is either a very long umbilical cord or a rope. The Son of Earth vomits organic pieces, and the nomads excitedly accept these as gifts. The nomads finally bring the man to a fire and burn him. "Mother Earth" encounters the resurrected man and comforts him. She seizes the man with a similar umbilical cord. The nomads appear and proceed to rape her. Son of Earth is left to mourn over the lifeless body. A group of characters appear, carry her off and dismember her, later returning for Son of Earth. After he, too, is dismembered, the group buries the remains, planting the parts into the crust of the earth. The burial site becomes lush with flowers. Grainy photographs of God Killing Himself are shown towards the end of the film.

The film begins with 12-year-old Eliza Thornberry playing with a family of cheetahs in East Africa, where her parents Nigel and Marianne Thornberry work as roving wildlife photographers for a television nature show. Eliza has the magical ability to talk and communicate with wild animals. Eliza also rides on the back of a female elephant named Phaedra throughout the jungle. The cheetah mother, Akela, has left Eliza in charge of her cubs; however, Eliza strays beyond the security of the area, and one of the cheetah cubs, Tally, is kidnapped by poachers. Eliza's persistent efforts to rescue the cub lead her British grandmother Cordelia, who is visiting them, to send her off to an English boarding school, fearing that Eliza is constantly endangering herself in Africa and will be much safer in England much to Debbie's dismay that Eliza had to go instead of her. Darwin, Eliza's "pet" chimpanzee, smuggles himself into her luggage and travels to school with her. After a chaotic food fight at a dinner Darwin attends, he is discovered and gets Eliza in trouble. The headmistress tells Eliza that her grandmother will be disappointed in her. Eliza is still guilt ridden for causing Tally to be taken away by poachers.

Child prodigy Hiroki Sawada—who, by the age of ten, is already a MIT grad student and has developed a DNA Tracker software—has been under the guardianship of Thomas Schindler, owner of the software giant Schindler, Inc., since his mother died. After defeating Naraku, they subsequently split up, leaving InuYasha, Kagome and Shippo searching for the remainder of the Shikon Jewel shards without Miroku or Sango. Kagura and Kanna, the two surviving incarnations of Naraku are restless now that Naraku is dead. They find a mirror in a shrine and awaken Kaguya, Princess of the Heavens. In exchange for freeing her, Kaguya promises to grant Kagura her eternal freedom. The two set out to recover five items that will free Kaguya from her mirror, leading them to cross paths once again with InuYasha and his friends. Kaguya, desiring to stop time, kidnaps Kagome who is able to put up a barrier against her spells. The remainder of the group reunite in Kaguya's realm of mirrors in order to retrieve Kagome. Kaguya, intending to enslave InuYasha, attempts to transform him in to a full-fledged demon. The spell is broken by Kagome, who admits her love for InuYasha for the first time in order to stop the transformation. Naraku reappears on Kohaku's back, revealing that he had purposely faked his death to absorb Kaguya. Naraku, unable to fight on equal terms, then escapes with Kohaku, Kagura and Kanna. Kagome then combines her power with that of Miroku as she launches a piece of his staff in the form of an arrow and destroys Kaguya's mirror. InuYasha then destroys Kaguya's physical form. Kaguya appears in a gas-like form and tries to take control of Kagome's body but ends up being sucked into Miroku's wind tunnel. They escape back to the normal world through Kaguya's mirror as her palace collapses. With things returned to normal, an embarrassed InuYasha and Kagome resume denying their feelings for each other, refusing to discuss Kagome's admission in the mirror realm.
