Synopsis
Kathy et John forment un jeune couple idéal, uni et très amoureux. Lorsque Kathy apprend qu'elle est enceinte, tous leurs projets semblent remis en question. Ils décident de faire au mieux pour privilégier les études et la carrière de John. Kathy prendra ainsi soin du bébé tandis que John poursuivra son cursus scolaire à l'université d'Harvard. Ils se débrouillent ainsi jusqu'à ce que Kathy abandonne son fils et son mari car cette vie ne lui convient pas, elle retourne chez elle . John se retrouve seul à élever son bébé tout en poursuivant ses études et en travaillant à mi-temps. Il sera aidé par la femme chez qui il loue une chambre, ainsi que ses professeurs.Actors

Travis Freeman, a local football star, is an average high school junior. With the help of his parents, best friend, Jerry, another childhood friend, Ashley, and his mobility coach, Travis pulls through and is able to adapt to his new disability and starts his senior year at Corbin High School. Every day after school, Travis attends football practice, but watches, with help from his friend, Ashley, from the sidelines. His coach and mentor, Coach Farris, approaches him one day about joining the team again. Without much convincing, Travis rejoins the football team as a center and helps the team turn around their losing season advancing to the state playoffs.

Set in 1979, the film focuses on a Seattleite couple, police officer and former park ranger Roger Lewis (Bancroft), and 22-year-old waitress Denise Harris (Milano). They are invited by businessman Wylie Bennett (Fraser) to Alaska to head out to the fictional wilderness of Surprise Bay and find a goldmine. If they are successful in retrieving gold, they are awarded 10% of the profit. Denise is hesitant to travel into the wilderness, though blindly follows her boyfriend, who regards the exploring as a great adventure. They are flown to the location, roughly 75 miles away from the nearest 'civilization', with just a dog and a radio with bad reception. There, they are set up in a cabin, where they spend their first couple of weeks. When they realize that their food supply is running out and that nobody is coming to help them, they become afraid. Roger considers shooting a deer, but Denise opposes such due to her vegetarianism.
