Il s'agit de l'histoire de six africains, 5 hommes et une femme qui voyagent du Sénégal au Maroc afin de traverser le détroit de Gibraltar pour passer en Espagne.
Synopsis
Le film débute avec quatre des personnages principaux—Joe, Sipipi, Kadirou, et Moussa—dans une barque qui les emmène du Sénégal à la Mauritanie. Lorsqu’ils arrivent à un camp, ils rencontrent deux trafiquants et deux autres clandestins, Harvey et un homme plus âgé qu’ils appellent simplement « le marabout ». Le lendemain ils commencent leur traversée du désert dans un pick-up, arrivant finalement à un café dans une espèce de « no man’s land » entre la Mauritanie et l’Algérie. Là, deux nouveaux trafiquants placent les six hommes dans deux camions, dont le premier est un camion réfrigéré plein de poissons. Quand les chauffeurs font un arrêt dans le désert, des policiers descendent dans un hélicoptère et contrôlent les camions mais ne voient pas les clandestins cachés.Actors

Hortense (Mata Gabin), a nurse of African origin in her forties, abandons her family to be with her lover, Jean-Paul – an oyster cultivator in the Arcachon Bay. Her husband, Malik (Marius Yelolo) remains in denial about his wife's departure as he is left to look after their children – two boys aged 12 and 6. While Malik dreams of returning home to Mali, the rest of his family (including his eldest son Dani (Diouc Koma), whose homosexual identity is suddenly revealed to Malik) embrace life in France. Reggie Dunlop (Paul Newman) is the aging player-coach of the Charlestown Chiefs hockey team in the fictional Federal League. A perennial loser for years, the team's manager Joe McGrath (Strother Martin) has resorted to extreme cost-cutting techniques and embarrassing promotional antics to keep local interest alive. Dunlop, while not particularly talented as either a player or coach, is a skilled con man, and regularly manipulates the team to his own advantage. During a hopeless season, the Chiefs pick up the Hanson Brothers, bespectacled violent goons with childlike mentalities, complete with toys in their luggage. Horrified at being given players who seem stupid, immature, and unreliable, Dunlop initially chooses not to play them.
