Synopsis
Jet fuel is stolen by weapons smugglers. The fuel is reacquired by the Hong Kong police but then once again stolen by a yakuza boss named Akatora who is trying to sell it with the help of Hong Kong thug Daniel. Three rebellious cops go undercover to find both the jet fuel and Akatora. They must use the criminal instincts that got them kicked out of the force to save Hong Kong from a devastating terrorist attack.Actors

In Hong Kong, FBI agents Ian Curtis, Jane Quigley, Ross Tucker, and Quincy are protecting a group of American scientists introducing the RS 1 battlefield robot at an international exposition of military gear. A group of arms dealer led by disgruntled RS 1 designer Kurt, and abetted by the drugged and mesmerized Hong Kong police detective Edison, steal the lethal robot in order to terrorize the city. When Edison's colleagues Match and Alien try to rescue him, all three young "Gen-X" cops find themselves the target of the FBI.

The film begins showing Thongs and Octopus evading security guards in a hospital, having stolen money and cancer medication from the safe. Meanwhile, a newborn baby to the wealthy Lee family is snatched by Max, the mother's ex-boyfriend, prompting the security guards give chase, ignoring the burglars, and corner Max on an escalator. Following a violent struggle, Max and the baby fall over the side—the baby is caught by Thongs, while Max plummets to his death. An armoured truck carrying $100 million of cash is attacked by a criminal gang who call themselves the "Ronin Gang" with explosives as it stops at a traffic junction in front of a jewellery shop. All the security guards are shot dead except one, while responding police officers suffer serious casualties under the gunfire of the heavily armed gang members. The explosions also kill several civilians, including a lady in the shop. Six months later, the same gang reappears in Hong Kong, injuring a group of policemen, two critically, during a spot check. The dead woman in the jewellery shop is CID detective Chan Chun's fiancée, while the injured policemen are led by Trainee Inspector Fong Yik-wei. Both officers vow revenge on the criminal gang.

Somewhere in the jungles of South Africa, a multinational military unit, Special Force Unit, ambushes a convoy and kidnaps several scientists working on a highly-volatile compound extracted from a recently discovered meteorite. Yuen Tak-wah (Andy Lau) has been practicing Taekwondo since he was a kid and becomes an expert at it with his best trick being the 720 Degree Whirlwind Kick. Wah later becomes a cop and uses his good skills to contribute in cracking cases which leads to the jealousy of Officer Cheung Yeung (Roy Cheung), the leader of the rival team. Cheung is also a Taekwondo expert who has a won a championship at the Hong Kong Police Force's Taekwondo tournament. Finally, conflicts launched the two into the Taekwondo finals where compete against each other. At the earlier rounds, Wah was at a disadvantage until he uses his Super Whirlwind Kick and wins the championship, while Cheung loses and is convinced. Afterwards, Wah opens a martial arts school which specializes in training the Whirlwind Kick to students, attracting many youths to register in order to learn from him.
