Synopsis
Rachel (Bowen), a high school girl, seems to have the life that most people envy: she has a steady boyfriend, great friends, and a place on the school's soccer team. Preparing for college and separating from her boyfriend are the main worries of this teen, as she lives a carefree life like most girls her age. However, Rachel's world falls apart the day she discovers that Jason (Detten), the guy whom she lost her virginity to at a party and died in a car accident a few months ago, was HIV positive and a heavy IV drug user.Actors

It is the summer of 1984 in Paris. Sarah, a well-to-do writer of children’s books, and her working-class husband, Mehdi, an inspector of North African descent, are confronting some marital problems after the recent arrival of their first child. Sarah, stumbling over a bout of writer's block, has little maternal instinct towards their newborn baby, whose cries she tunes out with earplugs while she works. Her husband despairs when she neglects the child, does what he can to fill in, and sometimes parks the child with his parents. The couple have an open marriage and both are allowed to take outside lovers in a “don’t ask, don’t tell” arrangement that seems to work, although not without tensions.

Seok-joong, a farmer in his mid thirties, is desperate to find a wife and settle down. En 1970, Farrokh Bulsara, un immigré parsi, est étudiant en art et travaille comme bagagiste à l'aéroport de Londres-Heathrow. Un soir, dans une petite boîte de nuit, il découvre sur scène le groupe de rock Smile, alors composé du guitariste Brian May, du batteur Roger Taylor et du chanteur-bassiste Tim Staffell. Ce dernier annonce aux deux autres qu'il a décidé de quitter la formation pour rejoindre un autre groupe qui lui semble plus prometteur. Après le concert, Farrokh se présente à Brian May et Roger Taylor, qui sont alors dépités. Ils ne prennent pas au sérieux ce jeune homme au look étrange et Roger Taylor, alors étudiant en médecine dentaire, se moque même de sa denture si particulière, mais Farrokh leur fait une démonstration de ses capacités en chant qui les fait changer d'avis. Après des débuts hésitants, ils sont rejoints par le bassiste John Deacon. Le groupe se renomme Queen, alors que Farrokh choisit comme nouveau nom Freddie Mercury, malgré les réticences de son père. Le groupe commence à se faire remarquer, notamment par les performances scéniques de Freddie, qui demande par ailleurs en mariage Mary Austin, une vendeuse de vêtements qu'il fréquente depuis plusieurs mois et qui l'aide à créer ses costumes de scène.

The film spans Cohn's life from childhood through his initial rise to power as McCarthy's right-hand man in the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations hearings and his eventual public discrediting a month before his death in 1986 from AIDS. It is told mostly in flashback as Cohn lies dying in a Virginia hospital, hallucinating that his many enemies (from Robert Kennedy to Ethel Rosenberg, a convicted Communist spy he sent to the electric chair) are haunting him. It concerns aspects of Cohn's life such as his closeted homosexuality and the measure of his culpability in the "Red Scare" of the 1950s. While the movie portrays Cohn in a decidedly unsympathetic light, it also depicts episodes in his life, such as the death of his beloved mother, in which he showed a more tender, compassionate side.
