Synopsis
Après la sortie de prison du révérend David Hill (comme on le voit dans le film précédent), une controverse est suscitée contre l'église St. James de Dave, située sur le campus universitaire. Cela amène le collège à entamer le processus de fermeture de l'église, à la grande consternation de Dave et de sa partenaire Jude. Lorsqu'ils ont été informés de la décision de fermer l'église et de la remplacer par un bâtiment permettant d'agrandir l'école, Dave et Jude ont entamé le processus de poursuite du collège pour sauver St. James. Les choses s'aggravent quand Adam Richertson, étudiant, en signe de protestation, jette une brique dans l'église, allume un feu qui tue Jude et détruit presque l'église. Dave est obligé de s'attaquer à la perte de son cher ami. Adam est horrifié par ses actes et envisage d’avouer le crime, ce qui le conduit à renouer le contact avec sa petite amie sceptique, Keaton.Actors

The film begins with an opening quote from James 2:17. A pastor (McGinley) is shaken by a street preacher regarding his faith, which causes a chain of events for twelve different people, moving towards one cataclysmic event. Some will survive while others will not, but many lives will be changed. An older couple (Shepherd and Majors) have lost their only child. The aforementioned pastor and his wife (Tracy Melchior) were unable to conceive a child. A mother (Sorvino) and young daughter (Makenzie Moss) find themselves homeless, a young nurse (Dominguez) and her husband (Matthews) are caught in a court case that may ruin their lives. A young mother (Pettis) is about to give birth. A war veteran (Soria) returns home with PTSD. A suicidal young woman (PenaVega) seeks to see her father and feel loved again. La professeure d'histoire AP, Grace Wesley, une fervente chrétienne évangélique, remarque que l'une de ses étudiantes, Brooke Thawley, est retirée à la suite du décès accidentel de son frère. Brooke, très impliquée dans ses études, remarque l'attitude remplie d'espoir de Grace et demande où Grace trouve son optimisme. Grace répond "Jésus" et Brooke commence à lire la Bible elle-même. Alors que Grace donne des conférences sur Mahatma Gandhi et Martin Luther King, Jr., Brooke demande si leurs enseignements pacifiques ont un rapport avec le récit biblique du sermon sur la montagne. Grace répond par l'affirmative et relie des parties des Écritures à ses enseignements. Un élève envoie immédiatement un message à ses parents au sujet de la classe et la réaction qui en résulte attise la colère de la directrice Kinney. Elle réprimande Grace en disant que la foi de l'enseignante obscurcissait son jugement. Grace est ensuite traduite devant la commission scolaire, qui l'informe qu'une action en justice sera intentée contre elle car elle a violé la séparation de l'église et de l'État. Le cas de Grace attire l'attention de Tom Endler, un jeune avocat de la défense catholique qui est prêt à l'aider alors qu'il est lui-même un incroyant.

One night Daniel wishes that he had "never become a believer," and the next day he has a rude awakening.
