Synopsis
Toshio possède un petit atelier métallurgique. Lui et sa femme Akié ont une fille d'une dizaine d'années, Hotaru. Un jour, Yasaka qui est une ancienne connaissance de Toshio, se présente à l'atelier. Toshio lui donne un emploi et lui propose de le loger.Actors

Hiroshi (Tadanobu Asano) wakes up in a hospital room and realizes that he was in a serious car accident that caused the death of his girlfriend, Ryoko (Nami Tsukamoto), as well as the loss of his memory. While trying to regain his memory, one of the first clues that Hiroshi finds are his old medical textbooks that he studied prior to his accident. This gives him a renewed purpose in life and he delves forward into his medical school studies. One of his medical school classmates, Ikumi (Kiki), soon becomes infatuated with Hiroshi, although he does not return her interests initially. During a 4-month period, in which his class dissects human cadavers, Hiroshi realizes that the body that he is dissecting is the body of his former girlfriend, Ryoko, which causes more of Hiroshi’s memory to return. During this time, Hiroshi engages in a relationship with his classmate Ikumi, that helps him recall further memories of his ex-girlfriend. Ikumi, meanwhile, feels jealous rage because of Hiroshi’s devotion in dissecting the cadaver of Ryoko, while Hiroshi is consumed in the quest to understand who that person was that died in his car and ultimately find out who he really is.

Kenji is a lonely librarian in the Japan Foundation in Bangkok. In the future, on the planet Dorothy, a world dominated by canine humanoids, duck's ass-hairstyle wearing "Sweet" JP races in the planet's Yellowline car race, a final elimination race despite two interplanetary wars to the most popular race in the galaxy, the Redline. The crowd is watching the race on an outdoor giant monitor screen in the desert town of the Water Stop. His mechanic, Joshua "Frisbee" Flathead, is watching the televised race with a mafia boss. The gambling boss is concerned that JP might attempt to win the fixed race but Frisbee reassures him that JP needs bail bond funds from the pay-off. JP attempts to win anyway while Frisbee resorts to using a remote detonator transmitter hidden in the palm of his hand which the mob boss doesn't notice, causing JP's TransAM20000 to explode and making the 'Crab Sonoshee Sea' hovercraft piloted by female racer Sonoshee "Cherry Boy Hunter" McLaren the winner.

The film follows five simultaneous, loosely linked plot lines, that intertwine and scramble together.
