Synopsis

Pour s'emparer de la carte qui le mènerait à une mine d'or, un hors la loi n'hésite pas à employer des moyens d'une extrême violence: meurtres, rapt d'enfants, tortures... mais il échouera dans son entreprise... et justice sera faite.

Having massacred an Indian village, outlaw Duncan finds his men falling victim to a solitary rider, Navajo Joe. Joe saves three prostitutes who have overheard Duncan plot with Lynne, the town doctor, to steal a train full of money belonging to the bank. Joe steals the train back from Duncan's gang. He asks the townspeople of Esperanza to pay him to protect them from Duncan, making an offer of "I want a dollar a head from every man in this town for every bandit I kill". The townspeople reject him, as they "don't make bargains with Indians." Lynne's wife Honor persuades them otherwise. Joe sets a trap for Duncan but is caught and tortured; Lynne and Honor are killed. Rescued by an old man from the saloon, Joe again steals the train and eradicates Duncan's gang. There is then a showdown in an Indian cemetery, where Joe reclaims the pendant which Duncan stole from his wife when he murdered her. As Joe turns, Duncan shoots Joe with a hidden gun. Injured, Joe grabs a tomahawk and throws it, hitting Duncan square in the forehead. With Duncan dead, Joe sends his horse back to town, carrying the Bank's money.

Man and dog forge a true bond of friendship, working together to survive life in the treacherous frozen North. Thornton is killed by Yeehat Indians, but Buck kills the men to avenge John Thornton. At the end of the film, Buck comes to the White River to mourn the place where he died.

En 1900, Eftychia Notara, une jeune fille de la bonne société, se rend avec son père à Ermioni dans le Péloponnèse. Ils viennent inspecter les terres qu'ils y possèdent. Là, elle rencontre Tasos Lygos, leur régisseur, dont elle tombe amoureuse. Astero est elle aussi amoureuse de celui-ci. De son côté, la sœur de Tasos, Lenio, est amoureuse du riche Kitsos. Leur relation finit par être connue dans tout le village. Tasos menace Kitsos : il doit épouser sa sœur, ou il le tue. Diamanto est elle aussi amoureuse de Kitsos qui préfère Lenio. Diamanto est responsable, sans l'avoir voulu, de la mort de Kitsos. Tasos est accusé. Il doit fuir dans la montagne. Il est poursuivi par la police. Encerclé, il ne doit la vie qu'à la révélation à l'ultime minute de la véritable raison de la mort de Kitsos. Le père d'Eftychia s'oppose à son mariage avec Tasos. La jeune femme s'incline face à Astero et rentre, le cœur brisé, à Athènes.
