Ercole alla conquista di Atlantide (English Translation: Hercules at the Conquest of Atlantis) is a 1961 Italian / French international co-production film directed by Vittorio Cottafavi and starring Reg Park in his film debut as Ercole/Hercules. It was originally released in Super Technirama 70.
The film is also known as Hercules Conquers Atlantis in the United Kingdom, and Hercules and the Captive Women in the USA where the film was not only retitled but edited, rescored and given a title design by Filmation. As Hercules and the Captive Women, it was featured on a fourth season episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Synopsis
When strange atmospheric events occur in the disunited city states of Ancient Greece, a forum debates what action to take. As there is no agreement, Androcles King of Thebes seeks the assistance of his friend, the legendary Hercules. Hercules, now married to Deianira with a son named Hylas does not wish to leave the comfort of his family, though Hylas is keen for adventure.Actors

The film begins with Hercules/Goliath/Emilius entering the underworld and defeating several monsters including Cerberus to retrieve the Blood Diamond of the Goddess of Vengeance. It is later revealed that King Eurystheus has sent Hercules/Goliath on this task to ensure his death to gain allies who after Hercules' death will join the King in an attack on Thebes. The episode is loosely based on the twelfth of the Labours of Hercules.

Au VI siècle av. J.-C., Rome est assiégée par les Étrusques et leurs alliés, des soldats grecs ainsi que des Gaulois menés par Drusco. Porsenna, le chef des Étrusques, accorde une trêve à Rome à condition que la cité lui remette mille otages en garantie. Drusco, attiré par Clélie qui est à la tête d'un bataillon de courageuses Romaines, exige que ces femmes fassent partie des otages. Lucille, la fille de Porsenna, exhorte les Grecs à détruire Rome. Elle décharge les Gaulois de la surveillance des prisonnières et, dès qu'ils sont partis en expédition, elle enivre les Étrusques pour les inciter à abattre les otages. Clélie et ses compagnes réussissent à s'échapper, ce qui met fin à la trêve et déclenche l'attaque des Étrusques. Malgré la ruse de Clélie et de ses guerrières qui empruntent les égouts souterrains pour surprendre l'ennemi par l'arrière, les Étrusques sont vainqueurs. Mais Drusco intervient pour que la paix soit proclamée et demande à Clélie de l'épouser.

Pelias (Douglas Wilmer), misinterpreting the prophecy given to him by the god Zeus (Niall MacGinnis), usurps the throne of Thessaly by killing King Aristo and most of his family. The infant Jason is spirited out by one of Aristo's soldiers. The king of Crete, Cadmos, has just murdered his wife in order to live with his scheming lover Ermione. For this deed, a prophetess curses him in the name of the gods, foretelling him that the man his infant daughter Antiope would one day fall in love with will eventually be his doom. Furious at the gods' judgement and unable to kill Antiope on the spot (lest the curse would fulfill itself immediately), megalomanic Cadmos renounces the gods and proclaims himself one. To this end, he and Ermione undergo a treatment with mystical vapors which render their bodies invulnerable (save for one critical spot on Ermione's chest uncautiously left covered).
