Attaque à Mumbai (Hotel Mumbai) est un drame historique indo-australo-américain coécrit et réalisé par Anthony Maras en 2018. Inspiré par le documentaire Surviving Mumbay retraçant les attaques terroristes à Bombay de novembre 2008, le film est plus particulièrement centré sur le Taj Mahal Palace, l'une des cibles de ces attaques terroristes.
Le film a été présenté pour la première fois le 7 septembre 2018 au Festival international du film de Toronto, avec une première en Australie au Festival du film d'Adélaïde le 10 octobre 2018, suivie d'une sortie en salle en Australie le 14 mars 2019, puis aux États-Unis le 22 mars 2019.
Synopsis
Novembre 2008, à Bombay. La ville de Mumbai est frappée par un vague d'attaques terroristes dans des lieux de grande fréquentation. Des hommes armés prennent notamment d'assaut l'hôtel de luxe Taj Mahal Palace & Tower en prenant en otage les clients et les employés. Au milieu de ce chaos, plusieurs personnes tentent de survivre et d'échapper au massacre. Alors que le chef du restaurant et un serveur indiens vont risquer leur vie pour protéger leurs clients, un couple de touristes britanniques, accompagnés de leur nourrice et d'un autre voyageur russe, veulent à tout prix de protéger leur nouveau-né. Pendant ce temps, le monde entier découvre en direct ces évènements tragiques, ce qui se déroule à l’intérieur dépassant l’inimaginable. Délaissé par les secouristes, les clients et les touristes ne peuvent que compter sur eux-mêmes pour survivre.Actors

The film opens with J. Edgar Hoover in his office during his later years. He asks that a writer, known as Agent Smith, be let in, so that he may tell the story of the origin of the FBI for the sake of the public. Hoover explains that the story begins in 1919, when A. Mitchell Palmer was Attorney General and Hoover's boss at the Justice Department. Palmer suffers an assassination attempt, but is unharmed when the bomb explodes earlier than intended. Hoover recalls that the police handling of the crime scene was primitive, and that it was that night that he recognized the importance of criminal science. Later, Hoover visits his mother, Anna Marie, and tells her that Palmer has put him in charge of a new anti-radical division, and that he has already begun compiling a list of suspected radicals. He leaves to meet Helen Gandy, who has just started as a secretary at the Justice Department. Hoover takes Gandy to the Library of Congress, and shows her the card catalog system he devised. He muses about how easy it would be to solve crimes if every citizen were as easily identifiable as the books in the library. When Hoover attempts to kiss her, she recoils. Hoover gets down on his knees and asks her to marry him, citing her organization and education, but his request is once again denied. However, Gandy agrees to become his personal secretary.

Jimmy Tong (Jackie Chan) is a taxi driver notorious for his speed and ability to get his customer anywhere in the least amount of time. The film opens with two bandits breaking into a railroad telegraph office, where they force the operator at gunpoint to have a train stopped and to transmit orders for the engineer orders to fill the locomotive's tender at the station's water tank. They then knock operator out and tie him up. As the train stops it is boarded by the bandits—now four. Two bandits enter an express car, kill a messenger and open a box of valuables with dynamite; the others kill the fireman and force the engineer to halt the train and disconnect the locomotive. The bandits then force the passengers off the train and rifle them for their belongings. One passenger tries to escape, but is instantly shot down. Carrying their loot, the bandits escape in the locomotive, later stopping in a valley where their horses had been left.

On September 11, 2001, Port Authority Police officers John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno are patrolling the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan when they see a plane fly dangerously low overhead. As all of the police officers return to the station, they see on TV that the North Tower of the World Trade Center has been hit by the plane. Sergeant McLoughlin assigns many of the officers to assist in a precautionary evacuation attempt of the North Tower and they board a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus. On the bus, they hear reports that the South Tower is also hit by another plane. When they arrive at the World Trade Center, they realize the extent of the disaster, and see one of the victims jump out of the towers to certain death. The men proceed to get safety equipment from Building 5 and enter the concourse between the towers.

In 1967, the Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, visits West Berlin to attend a performance at the Deutsche Oper. Angered at the Shah's repressive policies in governing Iran, a number of young Germans show up to protest his appearance.
