Les Bons Vivants (English: High Lifers), is a French comedy film from 1965, directed by Gilles Grangier, written by Michel Audiard and Albert Kantof, starring Louis de Funès. The film is known under the titles: "Un grand seigneur" (France, new title), "High Lifers" (International English title), "How to Keep the Red Lamp Burning" (USA), "Un drôle de caïd" (alternative French title), "Alegres vividores" (Spain), "Die Damen lassen bitten" (West Germany), "Per favore chiudete le persiane" (Italy).

Synopsis

1er sketch : La Fermeture Monsieur Charles et Madame Blanche sont bien tristes : la maison close qu'ils tiennent va fermer et ils doivent dire adieu aux jolies filles, à tous leurs amis qui fréquentaient ce lieu… En guise d'adieu, les tenanciers offrent un cadeau à chacune des pensionnaires, mais Lucette est absente pour cause de deuil. L'enseigne (une lanterne) revient à cette pensionnaire si douée à laquelle Monsieur Charles prédit une belle ascension sociale.
