Synopsis
Des meurtres étranges sont commis à Los Angeles où les victimes, toutes des hommes, sont vidées de leur sang. David Balsiger, étudiant en droit, travaille à la morgue et trouve des traces de morsures sur le corps des victimes. Two American college students, David Kessler (David Naughton) and Jack Goodman (Griffin Dunne), backpack across the North York Moors. As darkness falls, they stop for the night at a pub called "The Slaughtered Lamb". Jack notices a five-pointed star on the wall. When he asks about it, the pubgoers stop talking and become hostile, telling them to keep to the road and beware of the full moon. The pair decide to leave, but while talking they wander off the road onto the moors.

A magician named Montag the Magnificent puts on elaborate magic shows in a dilapidated post-punk Los Angeles in which he seemingly kills, in brutal torturous fashions, beautiful young women who nevertheless appear alive and unharmed at the end of the trick. Two brothers, Seth and Richard "Richie" Gecko, having just robbed a bank, stop at a liquor store to pick up a map. When the arrival of Texas Ranger Earl McGraw threatens their getaway, they kill him and the cashier, burning down the store in the process. During the gunfight, Richie is shot in the hand. Fleeing a combined force of FBI and local police, they head towards Mexico where a contact has arranged a safe-house for them. Along the way they stop at a motel and unload a bank teller whom they are holding hostage. While Seth goes out to "sight see" checking on the border and to buy fast food burgers, Richie brutally rapes and murders the teller. Seth, who pictures himself as a professional thief, becomes furious over Richie's sadistic behavior.

A group of vampires look for the hidden resting place of Drake, also known as Dracula—the genetic "father" of their species.
