It was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and won the Grand Prix - Golden Apricot reward at the Yerevan International Film Festival. The film was shot in Vienna, Ukraine, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia from 2005 until May 2007 on 16mm film. Simultaneously, the film follows a nurse from Ukraine searching for a better life in the West and an unemployed security guard from Austria heading East for the same reason.

Synopsis
Olga is a Ukrainian woman from Eastern Ukraine, who lives with her mother and has a child. Her job as a nurse does not pay well enough for her to support herself and her baby, and she gets a second job doing internet pornography. She eventually leaves her homeland and travels to Vienna, Austria where she finds a job as a housekeeper at a rich family's home, where she also lives. However, the woman of the family suspects her of stealing and sacks her. She is then employed as a cleaner at a geriatric hospital. There, she strikes up a relationship with an elderly man named Erich and he asks her to marry him. She accepts, as she knows this will gain her Austrian citizenship. However, Erich dies of a heart attack before they can marry.Actors

While Melanie's mother spends her holidays in Kenya, a group overweight girls go a diet camp in the Austrian mountains. Everyday life in the camp is marked by drills, rationed meals, and food counseling. At night, the girls discuss puberty's problems, smoke cigarettes and take food from the kitchen. Melanie falls in love with her physician and director of the camp. The doctor is torn between the duty to professional distance and his emotions, which become stronger against his will. At the end, he forces himself to prohibit further contact between him and Melanie, causing her deep distress.

50-year-old Austrian woman Teresa is on holiday in a beach resort in Kenya. She encounters younger men and has sex with them. She worries whether they really find her attractive. Actually they are prostitutes, although they deny that they have had encounters with other white women and do not ask a fee for their services, but instead ask for financial support for relatives in need. Teresa's friends hire a male stripper for her birthday, who dances nude for them. They are disappointed that they do not succeed much in sexually arousing him. Later Teresa invites the bartender of her resort into her room and instructs him to kiss her genital area, which he politely declines. Angrily she tells him to get out.

My Blind Heart is a film about Kurt (Christos Haas), a 29-year-old marine biologist who suffers from the rare disease Marfan Syndrome, which makes him almost blind as well as giving him a very peculiar appearance.
