Synopsis
Le film raconte une histoire véritable survenue à Palerme au cours des années 1970. Une famille démunie composée de Nicola Ciraulo, son épouse Loredana et leurs enfants Tancredi et Serenella, vit avec les grands-parents Fonzio et Rosa, dans une extrême précarité. La famille achète une grosse automobile grâce à l'argent qui leur a été donné par l'État italien afin de les dédommager de la mort de la fille Serenella, touchée et tuée par une balle égarée.Actors

In the immediate post-war Sicily the La Marca brothers, owners of a sacred craft company, set up, with the consent of the Archbishop of Palermo Cardinal Sucato, the Trinacria House of Film Production, which they intend it should be the "beginning of a Sicilian Hollywood". The first films, played by non-professional actors, badly rehearsed and directed, are commercial disasters, and so to revive the fortunes of the company they have the idea to make a film about the life of Cagliostro, engaging Errol Douglas, an alcoholic Hollywood star whose career is going into sharp decline, in the title role.

Titta Di Girolamo is a middle-aged loner who has spent the last eight years living in an upmarket hotel in Lugano, Switzerland.
