Add to a movie listJumbo is a 2008 Bollywood animation film directed by Kompin Kemgumnird, produced by Percept Picture Company and features the voices of Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Dimple Kapadia, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Gulshan Grover, and Yuvraj Singh.It has Yashveer Bains as lead role of Jumbo. The film is an official remake/redubbing of the 2006 Thai film Khan Kluay. The film was dubbed and released in Hindi and the creative direction on the Hindi film was by Mayur Puri. Jumbo released worldwide on Christmas Day 2008, but was met with mixed critical reviews and turned out to be one of the biggest box office disasters of the year. In 2011 A direct to DVD sequel titled Jumbo 2: The Return of the Big Elephant was released.
Kumar was reportedly paid nine crores for the dubbing and two promotional songs.
Synopsis
The movie starts with Akshay Kumar singing the song "Everything's Gonna Be All Right" for the children in the school. He then begins talking to one child who seems to be depressed. He then narrates the story of Jumbo to this child.Actors

Dans un village karen au nord de la Thaïlande, une jeune fille, Nora, et son petit frère, Luka, s'occupent des animaux en utilisant le don qu'a Luka pour communiquer par télépathie avec toutes les formes de vie. Ils sont accompagnés de leur animal familier, un tapir de Malaisie. Dans leur village, qui s'élève à l'orée d'une forêt, Nora suit l'enseignement d'une prêtresse âgée et bienveillante qui vit dans une grande proximité avec la nature. Un jour, après avoir pris soin d'un oisillon perdu, ils contemplent avec inquiétude l'apparition dans le ciel d'étranges zébrures de feu. Peu après, Sam, un jeune scout fils du Président Johnson, Président de Capitalville, la capitale mondiale, tombe par erreur dans un ravin près de leur village. Nora, Luka et les villageois le soignent mais, à son réveil, il commence par se montrer écœuré et moqueur en découvrant leur mode de vie. Sam est un passionné de nouvelles technologies d'information et de communication qui ne peut pas vivre sans son ordinateur portable et sa montre-téléphone dotée d'un GPS. Mais il peine à se faire prendre au sérieux par son père le Président, d'autant que juste avant son accident il a perturbé une importante cérémonie scout internationale annuelle en tentant d'atterrir en deltaplane et non en hélicoptère. Nora et Luka sont d'abord en colère contre Sam, mais leur dispute est interrompue par un cataclysme mondial : des crevasses de feu s'ouvrent dans le ciel, correspondant à des trous dans la couche d'ozone, et il en tombe tous les satellites artificiels jusque-là en orbite autour de la Terre. Des créatures inconnues, minuscules, très rapides et qui semblent faites de feu, ont pris le contrôle des satellites et tentent d'envahir la région en pénétrant dans toutes les machines électriques ou électroniques pour les changer en pantins dévastateurs. Lorsque les créatures s'engouffrent toutes dans l'ordinateur portable de Sam, Nora parvient à les détruire en expédiant l'objet dans une mare. Nora et Luka acceptent à contrecœur de le raccompagner chez lui. Sur la route, Sam découvre le savoir et les talents de Nora et de Luka pour comprendre leur milieu naturel, mettre à profit la flore sans la gâcher et communiquer avec la faune. Une amitié commence à se nouer entre les trois enfants.

The film revolves around a struggling road constructor, Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar). He dreams big, but there seems to be no chance of his dreams coming true as he doesn't have any money to bribe the bureaucracy. His family have lost faith in him, telling him to earn money. To make matters worse, the new Municipal Commissioner turns out to be his former girlfriend, Gehna Ganpule (Trisha Krishnan), who now hates him. His brothers-in-law Trigun (Manoj Joshi), Suhas Vichare (Milind Gunaji), and his elder brother (Paritosh Sand) were all responsible for a bridge collapsing case in which many people were killed. They were helped by a politician named Sanjay Rana (Jaideep Ahlawat). After being saved by their driver Vishwas Rao, (Tinu Anand) they kill him fearing he would reveal the truth. Meanwhile Sanjay's lustful eyes fall on Sachin's sister Anjali (Urvashi Sharma). Sachin warns him by slapping him in his office. Meanwhile Azad Bhagat (Makrand Deshpande) wants justice as his family were killed in that accident. Anjali is married to Sanjay, unbeknownst to Sachin, when he confronts his father he reprimands him, saying he has no right to say he didn't know anything because he has no money to send his sister off. After losing contact, he learns she has been attempting to contact him and goes to their house, seeing Azad escape from Sanjay's house. He then learns of Anjali's death because a cooker exploded. Devastating the whole family, especially Sachin himself, who is suspicious. He then meets Azad again at the municipal office, he learns of Azad's intentions and that he had stolen evidence which would put the people involved, behind bars. They both then agree to help each other to reveal the corruptness behind the construction of the bridge. Sanjay hires masked robbers, who kill Azad, who was on his way to court. At the hospital, while Azad is dying in Sachin's arms, he reveals that while he was stealing the evidence, he saw Sachin's sister being raped by Sanjay and his friends, now speculating whether she was murdered or if she committed suicide. In an attempt to make sure the evidence isn't revealed, Sanjay steals it after robbing Azad's house, a fight ensues between Sanjay and Sachin, Sanjay is then killed after being run over and Sachin successfully retrieves the evidence. Sachin's brother and brothers-in-law are arrested, and the whole family begin belittling him, claiming he was jealous of them and unlike his successful brothers, and blaming him for tarnishing the family name. Sachin then argues back that, they didn't lose anyone and he had to deal with the pain of losing Anjali the most. He agrees to leave, until his father stops him and realises his honesty and trustworthiness, re-kindling their relationship.

In festival it enters Raftaar Singh who is a fun-loving man who is un-educated. He has brought a running lion back. His naughtiness has kept his parents on worries. Raftaar soon gets kicked out of house and his father says that he will not come back until he completes his job. Raftaar gets 2 choices that either he will do job with his father's friend in Goa or marry Navjot's daughter Sweety. Raftaar chooses 1st choice after he thinks that Sweety is a fat girl that will give him huge problem. Sara Rana also enters in same style (riding on horse) who has lost her mother but hopes that she is alive, her father Mr. Rana took a wrong choice and worked as Mafia. Mark, a great mafia who wants to marry Sara is obstacled by her, even by Mark's father. Mark soon kills his own father and hunts for Sara but she escaped to Goa. Raftaar meets his boss Kripal Singh who is his father's friend then he successfully gets a job but gets a problem is that he doesn't know English language. Raftaar makes excuse that he knows English when he was in fear that he could be fired. Raftaar and his friends meets Sara in airport. Raftaar meets and befriends Emily as she knows English language. Sara meets Raftaar's boss and feels safe but thinks that Raftaar is a bad guy. In a time Raftaar accepts his mistake that he once made it and his boss felt proud. Sara soon finds out that Raftaar is a good guy when she sees him helping the women whom the bad guys were flirting with them. The same goons who were in search of Raftar gets beaten by Sara. Emily feels shocked on seeing her that she knows how to fight. Raftaar's friends and Sara gets kidnapped soon by same goons. Raftaar tries to save them, in this process Raftaar was able to beat some goons but unfortunately gets badly beaten, Sara later helps them and beats all goons. She then feels happy and proud of his goodness and starts liking him. Raftaar's boss feels finally happy with his job that has done well and he becomes best businessman. When Mark learns that Sara is in Goa he sends his men to bring her back. His mens breach and try to catch her but she escapes with Raftaar in car but unfortunately gets hitten. Raftaar gets beaten but later beats them all except a woman who is soon beaten by Sara. Raftaar decides to take Sara to his home according to his boss' advice. Sara goes in Punjab with Raftaar and meets his parents. She remembers her childhood by seeing Raftaar and her mother chatting together orally. Sara feels happy after staying with Raftaar in Punjab for few days. Raftaar's father tells about Raftaar's goodness and asks Sara that what is connection between them, she finally reveals that she is in love with Raftaar. Emily also had earlier handed responsibility to Raftaar to find Sara's lost mother. She tells the final location and Raftaar returns to Goa with Sara. Sara gets to old house where she lived and watches the vision as a flashback of her childhood but heartbrokenly thinks that she won't find her mother anymore. Sara decides to go back to Romania and she would never return, Raftaar feels heartbroken seeing her leaving after failing to tell Sara his feeling as he was in love with her. When Sara returns to Romania, she receives a news that her father was shot when he refused to get her married with Mark. She meets his father who is alive admitted in hospital. Raftaar successfully finds Sara's mother and brings her in Romania, she reunites with her husband and her daughter Sara. Sara then finally and happily confessed her love with Raftaar. Raftaar feels happy and decides to marry Sara. He tells his mother about same things and purchases cake,flower bouquet and new clothes and goes to church but feels angry when he sees Sara in initial marriage with Mark. Sara refuses to marry when she sees Raftaar. Mark challenges Raftaar for a fight, Raftaar accepts it and fights him and his men outside the church, Raftaar managed to beat all Mark's men but unfortunately get shot unconscious. Sara feels worried that Raftaar will die but soon he wakes up after remembers the lessons taught by his father's words and fights with Mark. They all are thrown in air in which it results Mark died after saying "You're too good,Sardaar (Chieftain)" and Raftaar is alive byt hanging in a side of bridge, Sara confesses her love with Raftaar again happily and vice versa. Raftaar finally gets pulled back to the bridge and returns to Punjab and celebrates his happiness with his friends, father and Sara. This film ends with a song "Singh and Kaur" in which Raftaar and Sara Rana danced.
