The film loosely recreates the story of young Irish rocker McCormick and his younger brother, Ivan, who attempt to become rock stars but can only look on as their secondary school friends form U2 and become the biggest band in the world. The film stars Ben Barnes as Neil McCormick, Robert Sheehan as Ivan McCormick, and Martin McCann as Irish singer Bono. It marked Pete Postlethwaite's final film role.
Synopsis
À Dublin, Neil McCormick et son jeune frère Ivan montent le groupe de rock Shook Up, avec l'ambition de devenir le plus grand groupe de rock du monde. Au même moment, Paul Hewson, leur camarade de classe, chante dans son propre groupe qui vient lui aussi de se former. Neil, persuadé que le sien est bien meilleur, ne se doute pas encore que le groupe qui le concurrence va bientôt sortir de l'ombre sous le nom de U2, et que Paul Hewson deviendra une star planétaire sous celui de Bono.Actors

Gloria Mullins has been sent to her old hometown of Grimley to determine the profitability of the pit for the management of British Coal. She also plays the flugelhorn brilliantly, and is allowed to play with the local brass band after playing Concierto de Aranjuez with them, the band is made up of miners from whom she must conceal her purpose. She renews a childhood romance with Andy Barrow, which soon leads to complications. It is later revealed during a confrontation between Gloria and the management of the colliery that the decision to close the colliery had been made two years previously, and that this was to have gone ahead regardless of the findings of her report; the report simply being a public relations exercise to placate the miners and members of the public sympathetic to their plight.

The story centers around two characters Adam (Luke Treadaway) and Morello (Natalia Tena) who end up handcuffed whilst appearing at T in the Park. Adam is the lead singer with successful pop group The Make who are booked to perform at popular music festival in Scotland. While looking for his manager he happens upon Morello, the lead singer for the all girl punk band The Dirty Pinks. The two do not get along and end up arguing, while doing so attracting the attention of a preacher who decides to teach them both a lesson in cooperation and compromise. He handcuffs the two together and disposes of the key, leaving the two stuck together until the handcuffs can be removed. This also means that the two must perform together, an arrangement that both are unhappy with. But over time they both see that they have more in common than first thought and Morello begins to wonder whether she is truly happy with her boyfriend Mark (Alastair Mackenzie).

Son employé, Theo Patzke, qui est responsable de la sécurité de la bijouterie, est tombé amoureux de Malwine et n'a pas pu lui refuser qu'elle porte le bijou lors de la fête. Mais il voit soudainement son patron entrer dans la salle. Bärbele Riederle, la secrétaire de Bussmann, remarque que Patzke est saoul et décide de retirer le bijou elle-même.
