Synopsis
Novembre 1989. Le mur de Berlin tombe et le bloc communiste se disloque, poussant Edek et Roman Kowalski à quitter Varsovie pour venir tenter leur chance à Paris. Quelques années plus tard. Malgré leur persévérance, les deux frères n'ont toujours pas trouvé le chemin de la réussite et vivotent péniblement de petits boulots, Edek vendant des ballons à la sauvette tandis que Roman s'improvise, au gré des opportunités, garagiste ou professeur de hongrois. Une situation précaire qu'Edek ne supporte bientôt plus. Aussi décide-t-il de rentrer au pays.Actors

The movie is based on Tim McLoughlin's novel Heart of the Old Country, which has Mike Manadoro (Kevin Zegers) as a 19-year-old Brooklyn boy who is torn between two worlds. When Mike's photography portfolio wins him a partial scholarship to New York University, he must figure out how to balance his tight-knit Italian neighborhood roots in Bay Ridge with the opportunity to blend into the expansive, sophisticated world on the other side of the East River.
