Synopsis
À la fin du XIX siècle, Arthur Kipps est un adolescent de 14 ans qui quitte son petit village pour se rendre à Folkestone dans le Kent, où in doit commencer son apprentissage dans le magasin de M. Edmund Shalford. Avant de partir, il demande à sa jolie voisine, Ann Pornick, si elle veut être sa petite amie et elle accepte. Arrivé dans le bazar de Shalford, il apprend qu'il doit absolument respecter les règles et il est envoyé suivre les instructions des employés plus anciens.Actors

Michelangelo Buonarroti, a sculptor from Florence, is first commissioned to craft the Pope's tomb in Rome. Instead, Pope Julius II orders him to paint frescoes on the Sistine Chapel ceiling depicting the Twelve Apostles. When her elderly patient is poisoned, innocent nurse Anne Graham is charged with murder, but is controversially acquitted by lawyer Stephen Farringdon. With the press and public opinion against her, Anne finds it difficult to get another job. It doesn't help that her own lawyer is suspicious. Changing her name she finds employment nursing wheelchair bound Edward Bentley. When Bentley is found dead, Scotland Yard detective Bill Mather arrests Anne, but lawyer Farringdon fights again to prove her innocence.
