Il s’agit des faits réels sur la vie du banquier Walraven van Hall qui a financé la résistance néerlandaise pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Synopsis
Le Banquier de la Résistance est basé sur l'histoire vraie du banquier néerlandais Walraven van Hall (Barry Atsma) sous l'occupation nazie. Il décide de financer la résistance néerlandaise par la création d'une banque parallèle. Walraven van Hall utilise le prétexte d'un fonds de bienfaisance créé pour aider les marins néerlandais bloqués à l'étranger par la guerre afin de blanchir de l'argent à l'intérieur de la banque dans laquelle il travaille. Cependant, alors que la guerre continue et que les Allemands se rapprochent de lui, les besoins de la résistance augmentent. Afin de se financer, il doit éditer des obligations de guerre, les échanger secrètement avec des vrais, pour échanger ces dernières contre de l'argent dans une « vraie » banque.Actors

The actor who annually plays Sinterklaas dies just before the arrival of television crew. A mysterious new Sinterklaas named Jan (Michiel Romeyn) replaces him. Just a short while after his public appearance, he jumps into water to save a little girl who falls into it, and then he runs away from the crowd and disappears. He is found by the production assistant of the television show next day, and agrees to appear in television shows on knowing that playing Sinterklaas is a paid job. He becomes quite popular on television because of his alternative style.

Stijn (Barry Atsma) is a rich, handsome and selfish advertising executive who lives in a hedonistic world. Everything revolves around him. A terrible storm causes hundreds of dikes to break in Zeeland, resulting in the North Sea flood of 1953. Julia, a single mother living with her parents, is caught in the middle of the catastrophic flood. She is rescued from drowning and taken to safety by her neighbour Aldo, who is a member of the armed forces. However, her baby is left in a wooden box in the attic of Julia's parental home. Together Julia and Aldo return to the disaster area to look for the baby. When they finally find the box, it is empty, and they conclude that someone must have taken the child. The child ended up with a woman who recently lost her own baby in a car accident. Julia met her but because the woman did not want to lose the baby, she hid him for Julia. Eighteen years later, Julia meets her son and the woman again and she finds out what has happened.
