Synopsis
Isabel est cadre dirigeante d'une grande entreprise, arrivée à la cinquantaine, elle n'a plus de désir et son mari l'a quitté pour aller vivre avec sa maîtresse enceinte. Elle envoie promener tous ses amis qui lui conseillent de suivre un traitement hormonal afin de se sentir mieux dans sa peau, répondant qu'il vaut mieux laisser faire la nature. Un soir en revenant d'un vernissage, et se promenant à pied, elle rencontre Emiliano, charmeur et dominateur, il la subjugue, lui donne des ordres, l'emmène danser puis ils couchent ensemble chez elle. Cette rencontre l'a transformé, mais l'homme est reparti sans donner ses coordonnées. Curieuse, elle entre dans une sex-shop où on lui conseille d'acheter des vidéos gays. Quand elle veut les visionner, on sonne à sa porte, c'est sa fille, son gendre et leurs deux enfants. La fille, Sybilla très psychorigide fait tout un discours convenu à sa mère sur la façon d'aborder le stress de la séparation, Isabelle l'envoie vertement promener en tenant des propos que sa fille juge choquants, pendant ce temps les enfants demandent à visionner des DVD.... la petite famille quitte l'appartement scandalisée.Actors

Silvia, a beautiful girl, sews underwear at an underwear factory owned by José Luis' family and prepares omelettes (tortillas de patatas) for extra income. After missing two periods, Silvia reveals to José that she is pregnant, expecting him to react negatively. However, to Silvia's surprise and delight, José Luis expresses his love for her and desire for her to go through with the pregnancy. Kika (Veronica Forqué), a young, bubbly aspiring actress turned cosmetologist, is called to the cottage of Nicholas Pierce (Peter Coyote), an American freelance writer who has moved to Spain to write about game hunting, to make-up the corpse of his stepson, Ramón (Alex Casanovas), before notifying the authorities. The circumstances of Ramón's "death" are rather suspicious, but Kika does not raise an issue of them and performs her work on Ramón. It turns out that he is not dead, and is actually catatonic. He is revived by Kika's attentions; soon after Ramón tells her the story of his life: he is a lingerie photographer who hasn't coped with the suspicious death of his mother, for which he blames Nicholas (since he was the last person to see her alive, and since he has since read his mother's diary, in which Nicholas is portrayed as abusive). Feeling empathic to Ramón, and in part turned on by the whole experience, she decides to move in with him.

Geek Hlynur is approaching the grand old age of 30, he still lives with his mother who is divorced from his alcoholic father, downloads cyberporn and wanders around Reykjavík half-heartedly searching for a job while spending lots of time in Kaffibarinn, the central Reykjavík bar (the bar is owned in real life by writer/director Baltasar Kormákur and his soundtrack composer Damon Albarn, a long-standing Icelandophile). The cramped, dark and oddly furnished house in which Hlynur and his mother live features a bath which transfigures into a sofa as Hlynur steps naked out of it, in the middle of the lounge with his mother watching.

Pepi cultive de la marijuana sur son balcon. Un flic qui habite en face, le remarque et vient chez elle pour le lui reprocher. Son regard est concupiscent si bien qu'elle soulève sa robe et lui propose de faire l'amour en échange de son silence. Le flic accepte. Elle lui précise toutefois qu'il doit passer par «derrière», ne voulant pas perdre sa virginité, qu'elle voulait monnayer pour 60 000 ptas, comme on l'apprendra plus tard. Le policier refuse et la pénètre. Il réalise en entendant ses cris que Pepi était réellement vierge. Celle-ci décide alors de se venger de ce viol avec l'aide de Bom et son groupe de musiciens, mais aussi celle de Luci, la femme masoschiste, mais abandonnée, du policier «qui la traite comme sa mère».
