Life Support is a 2007 American film starring Queen Latifah. It is loosely based on the real-life story of Ana Wallace, a HIV-positive woman.

The film premiered January 26, 2007 at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and premiered on HBO on March 10, 2007.

Synopsis

Ana Wallace (Queen Latifah) was diagnosed with HIV 11 years ago. She got the virus from shooting cocaine with her boyfriend, Slick (Wendell Pierce). Slick had the virus first but did not tell Ana he had it. Ana is devoted to her work at Life Support, an AIDS outreach group, but she struggles to repair her relationship with her teenage daughter, whom she lost custody of 11 years ago due to her drug addiction.

The film begins in late 1999. Tetraplegic forensics expert Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington) and a patrol cop, Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie), team up to solve a string of murders all connected to a serial killer by his signature: a single shard of bone is removed from each of the victims. Rhyme was paralyzed from the neck down in an earlier accident and is bed-bound and completely reliant on machines and his nurse Thelma (Queen Latifah) to function. He communicates with Amelia via headset as she examines the various crime scenes and collects evidence and reports back to him.

Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) is an agent working linewatch for the United States Border Patrol on the U.S. Mexico Border in New Mexico.
