Longwave (French: Les Grandes Ondes (à l'ouest), Portuguese: As Ondas de Abril) is a 2013 Swiss-French-Portuguese comedy-drama film directed by Lionel Baier. The movie is set in 1974, based on a true story about a Swiss production team working for Radio Suisse Romande, who are assigned to produce a puff piece in Portugal but instead witness the Carnation Revolution. The film's principal cast are Valérie Donzelli, Michel Vuillermoz, Patrick Lapp, and Francisco Belard.

Synopsis

Au début de 1974, à la suite de pressions politiques, le directeur de la Radio Suisse Romande se voit forcé de passer à l'antenne des programmes consensuels. Pour ce faire, il envoie trois personnes au Portugal chargées de faire un reportage émission consacré à l'aide apportée par la Suisse pour le développement économique du pays. Rien ne se passe vraiment comme prévu et, de plus, l'équipe suisse et son traducteur sont pris dans la Révolution des Œillets.
