Synopsis
Julien Barnier est un homme comblé : il est marié à Anne et père d'un garçon, Charles. Il est directeur d'un cabinet de recouvrement de créances, dans lequel il a appris à ne pas faire de sentiments dans son travail. Un jour, il rencontre Angela, une jeune femme séduisante et étrange installée à la terrasse d'un café dont la vue donne sur son bureau et qui le drague ouvertement. Profitant de l'absence d'Anne et Charles, partis en vacances quelques jours, il invite Angela dans son appartement et pense que cette liaison restera sans lendemain. Du moins le croit-il, puisque la jeune femme le relance, téléphone chez lui, mais il tente de clarifier la situation en disant qu'il ne veut pas de relation suivie et qu'il aime sa femme.Actors

As the film begins, Emmanuelle is travelling by ship to join her husband, Jean, in Hong Kong. To her annoyance there are no cabins available and she has to sleep in an all-female dorm. During the night, she is awakened by the girl in the neighboring bunk, who tells her that she is afraid of sleeping in a room full of women because she was raped by three Filipino girls while at boarding school in Macao - she concludes by confessing that she enjoyed it. In 1965, Rosemary Woodhouse (Mia Farrow), a bright but somewhat naive young housewife, and Guy (John Cassavetes), her husband and a struggling actor, move into the Bramford, an antiquated New York City apartment building. The couple learns from the building's manager, Mr. Nicklas (Elisha Cook, Jr.), that their new residence was previously inhabited by Mrs. Gardenia, an elderly woman who had seemingly gone senile. Guy also discovers a dresser concealing a simple closet which contains nothing except a vacuum cleaner and a few other household items. The film follows a beautiful but troubled young girl, Debbie Strand (Rose McGowan), placed in foster care with her estranged grandmother in Los Angeles after her mother and father die in a suspicious house fire. Her grandmother is an ultra-conservative fundamentalist Christian, who is convinced that she can undo years of Debbie's presumed hedonism with some "correctional therapy." Shortly thereafter she begins to abuse Debbie and forces her to wear demeaning and outdated clothes. During the hectic climax, Debbie breaks into Marilyn's home with the intention of wiping her out. Peter soon realizes Debbie is there and is quickly on his way. Meanwhile, Debbie confronts Marilyn. Marilyn runs through the kitchen, but Debbie tackles her to the ground. After a brief scuffle, Debbie is too strong as she knocks the helpless Marilyn unconscious. As she attempts to murder her, Peter rushes in and saves the day.
