Synopsis

Menahem Lang, 35 ans, acteur, revient dans sa communauté dans la ville de Bnei Brak, quartier ultra-orthodoxe de la banlieue de Tel Aviv, qu'il a quitté, sous la menace, à l'âge de vingt ans, pour Tel Aviv. Il y a été pendant près de 15 ans un gentil garçon, excellent chantre, et abusé sexuellement. Il y revient, quinze ans après son départ, à la recherche de ses agresseurs, principalement un rabbin, surtout pour une réconciliation. Il y rencontre divers hommes qui ont également été abusés, et ont également abusé, et qui s'inquiètent de leur sexualité. Il finit par y retrouver sa famille, et sa communauté, dans la douleur et dans la joie.

Dans les bars de Tel Aviv, la nuit, la réalisatrice demande à des jeunes Juifs s'ils auraient des relations sexuelles avec des Arabes, et à des jeunes Arabes s'ils feraient l'amour avec des Juifs. Chacun donne son avis, avec plus ou moins d'explications, sur le symbole que cela peut représenter pour eux (beaucoup l'ont déjà fait) ou au contraire leur refus. Des jeunes issus de familles mixtes (un parent juif, l'autre arabe) sont également interviewés. Le film recueille aussi les témoignages du journaliste Gideon Levy et de l'acteur Juliano Mer-Khamis, de mère juive et de père arabe, assassiné en 2011 par des Palestiniens à Jénine.

The plot is loosely connected to the documental stories published in Jim Corbett's 1944 bestselling book Man-Eaters of Kumaon. Narrator of the film is Jim Corbett. In the film, Corbett, who is portrayed by Christopher Heyerdahl, is asked to kill a man-eating tiger who killed a young woman in Kumaon. Corbett arrives to Kumaon and meets with local people. The sister (Mishra Smriti) of the victim takes Corbett to the killing site. They together ambush the man-eater and Corbett kills the tiger from the machan. During this plot, the narration (by Corbett) contains stories of the history of India and the Kumaon region, as well as the efforts to save Indian tigers.
