Synopsis
A Milan, sur la Via Monte Napoleone, le braquage d'une bijouterie tourne mal et une petite fille est tuée par un coup de feu tiré par l'un des bandits. Face à l'impuissance de la police locale dirigé par le commissaire Bertone (Raymond Pellegrin), Davide Vannucchi (Henry Silva), le père de la jeune victime, décide d'enquêter lui-même afin de se venger.Actors

Luigi Maietto aka "Chinaman" escapes from prison. As soon as he is free he assigns immediately two henchman to murder the inspector whose testimonal once led to his prison sentence. Inspector Tanzi is left for dead but survives. The local newspapers cover up for him and pretend the assassination had succeeded. When Tanzi gets better, his superior wants him to hide in Switzerland. But Tanzi defies him because he intends to make sure himself that Maietto is put back in prison. He goes for it.

A famous singer, Jenny Ascot (Evelyn Stewart), visits her cousin Martha Caldwell (Carroll Baker) at her home in the Pyrenees. Caldwell has long been rendered mute after witnessing both her parents being killed in a train crash. While Ascot and Caldwell are travelling to Caldwell's home, they notice a strange man who seems to be following them. That night, at Caldwell's villa, Ascot hears noises coming from the garage, and when she investigates, is killed by an unseen figure.
