Synopsis

Le film se déroule à Yopougon, un quartier populaire d'Abidjan, en Côte d'Ivoire, à la fin des années 1970, et suit la vie sentimentale et familiale d'un groupe d'adolescentes. Tandis qu'Aya se consacre essentiellement à ses études, ses amies Adjoua et Bintou pensent surtout à sortir le soir pour « gazer » (draguer) dans les « maquis » (les bars dansants), dans l'espoir de sortir avec un garçon malgré la surveillance de leurs familles qui redoutent les « génitos » (les séducteurs sans scrupules). Adjoua noue une relation avec un jeune homme, Moussa, le fils de Bonaventure Sissoko, l'un des hommes les plus riches du pays. Mais les choses se compliquent notablement lorsqu'elle se retrouve enceinte.

However, the atmosphere at the Bakers' new house is tense, and the situation at school for the children is even worse, although their new neighbors' the Shenks seem allright, especially their first and only son, Dylan.

The film is set against the backdrop of unrest in East Pakistan in the late 1960s leading up to the Bangladesh War of Liberation. Frank finds out of the mix-up and attempts to stop Kevin but is too late. With Adam's help, he subdues the store clerk, Mike (Arlen Escarpeta), who is a high school friend of Adam. They return to the fraternity house and clear a party to take care of Kevin's wounds, but Frank orders Adam and Graham (Luke Sexton) to go back to the store, recover the security tape, and check on Mike. When returning to the store, they find that the security camera does not work, but Mike is reluctant to tell the police a lie to cover their tracks.
